Gunuma Shack

Gunuma, meaning snow in the local indigenous language, is a quaint shack on the land of the Dhudhuroa People. Our 3 bedroom home is an ideal getaway for 1-2 couples or a small family seeking an alpine escape. The shack offers a cosy and comfortable stay, and what she lacks in polish she makes up in character. The perfect base for a family snow trip to Falls Creek in Winter or a mountain escape in Summer. The space 3 bedroom shack located in the Victorian high country. 1 km drive/walk into the heart of Mount Beauty, 600m drive/walk to the Pondage/playground and 17km to Falls Creek alpine resort. Bedroom configuration: 1 x queen bed 1 x queen bed Singles bunks The kitchen is small but has everything you will need to make your stay comfortable with all new appliances. Including stove top, oven, fridge, freezer, toaster, kettle, microwave, pots and pans. Note: There is no dishwasher. Our basic pantry items include tea, coffee, salt, pepper, sugar and olive oil. Mount Beauty Foodworks offer a great selection of groceries or check our information guide for some of our favourite local cafes and restaurants. Bed linen, bath towels and face washers are provided (one towel per person). The shack offers a small selection of games, toys and children’s books. Guest access We are proudly an inclusive stay and all guests of any background or community are welcome here into a safe space. Although our front door is accessed by stairs, there is a back entrance which can accommodate those with limited mobility. The small footprint of the house means there are some tight spaces, please contact us if you are unsure whether we can accommodate you. A couple of things to note: - Unfortunately the outdoor laundry is not currently available for guests. There is a laundromat in town if you require. - The decking is need of some TLC. Guests are asked to be cautious and use the deck at their own risk.
