Description

Welcome to The Arbutus Loft Ardmore is an exclusive neighbourhood with very large lots surrounded by trees and ocean. Located at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac this loft within a new executive home was completed in 2023. Start your morning gazing out the wall of windows that has you floating in the trees. What next? Access one of the many public forested trails ; Perhaps a 150m trail walk South to Coles Bay or a 600m walk North to Ardmore golf course. *see additional rules regarding smoking The space We designed this house with privacy in mind; no walls in the suite are shared with the living space of the main house. The 900 square foot loft is above the garage but has been fully soundproofed plus double drywall and triple pane windows, no need to tip toe around as we cannot hear each other! The living room/kitchen is open concept with a wall of windows and a skylight as well as a privacy window in the bathroom; it is an extremely bright and quiet suite that feels even roomier with 9 foot ceilings. The Kitchen is spacious and complete with stainless steel appliances, quartz countertops and soft close drawers. It is fully outfitted including a Nespresso machine, kettle, waffle maker, pancake griddle, rice cooker and stocked with essentials such as Nespresso pods, tea, spices, oil, sugar and a few treats! Full size laundry is also available beside the kitchen. The living room has plenty of comfortable seating to enjoy a book or access your favorite streaming accounts on the 58” Samsung smart TV (cable is provided). Wi-Fi is lightning fast for use throughout the Loft including a small computer desk with pull out tray should you need to do a bit of work. We also provide a Bose Bluetooth speaker for you to play your favourite tunes. Don’t worry about privacy with the wall of windows, there are no immediate houses on that side of the property…although we cannot guarantee that a squirrel or racoon won’t take a peek! Two bedrooms each with new high end King size beds and black out blinds ensure a quiet and comfortable sleep. Plenty of room to hang and fold your things as each bedroom comes with closet organizers. The bathroom is bright and modern with a frameless glass shower and plenty of natural light. Fluffy towels, shampoo, conditioner, body wash and hand soap are all provided as well as use of a full size hair dryer. You will be comfortable year round with heat and A/C provided by a mini split system as well as ceiling fans located in each bedroom. Fresh filtered air is continually circulated through the loft via an HRV system. No need for bottled water as all water to the house is processed through a state of the art filtration system. Guest access When you arrive at the home, you will find room for two cars to park directly in front of the Loft suite door (to the left of the garage). Prior to arrival you will be sent a code and clear directions on how to access the suite using the smart lock. Please note owners live on site and outdoor spaces (yard, deck etc) are private and not included in the loft rental) Other things to note Very conveniently located to the following: BC Ferries- 11km Victoria International Airport- 6km Butchart Gardens-14km Butterfly Gardens- 12km Panorama Leisure Centre- 7km Town of Sidney- 9km Victoria Inner Harbour- 25km The Loft is at the top of a full flight of stairs there are also 2 steps down from the driveway to the front door. The walking trails throughout Ardmore including to the beach are hilly and may have some roots and as such this is not well suited for those with mobility challenges. There is plenty of hot water to the loft with a dedicated tank, however there is a long delay (close to 2 mins) to get hot water to the bathroom. We suggest you start the water and then gather your towels or make a cup of tea or convince someone else in your party to shower first! If you have a very low-profile vehicle such as a lowered sports car use caution at the top of the driveway as it is steep and there may be clearance issues.
