The space Lower House Farm Cottage 1 is bright and welcoming, maintaining the original features of the old farmhouse with spectacular uninterrupted views over the fields and countryside. It is located in a charming village with every opportunity for some lovely country walks or cycling on quiet country lanes. The large South facing patio catches the sun every day and there is plenty of room for outside dining and relaxing. The cottage is all yours to enjoy during your stay and the enclosed garden provides a safe place to play for younger children. The three-bedroom house comfortably accommodates up to six guests to make it ideal for families and friends who want to explore the nearby Peak District National Park, get their adrenaline racing at Alton Towers, JCB International Golf Course, or discover the natural beauty of the Dales and Moorlands. One of the most impressive buildings in the area is the magnificent Chatsworth House which hosts activities, events and shows throughout the year and has a Children's Farm with adventure play area and small pet handling. If you enjoy walking amongst spectacular scenery, nearby Dovedale is a popular beauty spot renowned for its picturesque stepping stones and Thorpe Cloud which reaches a height of 942ft. Attractions close to the cottage include, Alton Towers, Sudbury Hall Museum of Childhood, Carsington Water (walks and water sports), the Heights of Abraham cable cars, Gullivers Kingdom, and the Peak Wildlife Park which is an excellent family day out. Days out can include visits to the nearby market town of Ashbourne, Shopping with cinema/bowling/ice skating in Uttoxeter, the spa town of Buxton, historic Bakewell, and the Trentham Estate where there is Monkey World and a shopping village. It is possible to hire a bike in the nearby town of Ashbourne to explore off road trails such as the Tissington Trail, Carsington Water and the Monsal trail. Monsal Head, directly above Monsal Dale, is one of the most famous and photographed viewpoints in Derbyshire. Close to the cottage just opposite Denstone Hall Farm Shop and Cafe is the start of the Denstone Old Railway Line, which provides off road walking and biking, leading to the Ramblers Retreat Cafe/Restaurant at Dimmingsdale four miles away. Even before it became the earliest national park in the UK, the Peak District has been a favourite year-round holiday destination. The beautiful landscape combined with fantastic attractions and a fascinating past makes it perfect for everyone no matter what their age or interest. Guest access The cottage is all yours to enjoy during your stay and the enclosed garden provides a safe place to play for younger children. There are 3 steps leading to the cottage path. We provide a key box for guests to enter the property on their arrival. Other things to note No pets allowed, however there are a number of local Kennels in the area. We politely ask that guests take off their shoes in the property. The cottage is not suitable for parties, hen and stag functions due to being a semidetached cottage in a quiet village location.
