Ready for a peaceful, off-grid escape? Book your stay today and reconnect with nature at the Dome Home! We cannot wait to host you. Guest access You'll have the entire Dome and 42 acres to yourself. The basement will be locked and off limits to guests as this is where the batteries are that power the Dome and could be dangerous to those not properly trained. There is also a wood burning stove in the main dome structure that is off limits to guests due to safety precautions. Other things to note The Dome is completely off grid, but is no different than a normal home. It is powered by solar energy and propane and has regular toilets, sinks, and showers. The propane tank will always be full upon arrival, however, the solar energy cannot be controlled. In the summer when the sun is strong, you shouldn't have any issues with power. If you are staying in the winter you may need to be more conscientious of your power consumption especially if there are multiple cloudy/snowy days. If the Dome loses power, there is a generator that you can turn on that runs off of the propane tank. There are 120V outlets throughout the Dome that will power your personal devices, but we ask that you only use the appliances we supply for you and do not use or bring high-use appliances like electric tea kettles, crock pots, hair dryers, straighteners, irons, etc. The road leading up to the Dome is 1/3 mile of dirt road. It is not in the best condition, any extremely low riding vehicles will most likely scrape on some of the bumps/imperfections. During the winter months you will need AWD to drive up to the Dome. The road may not be plowed during or even directly after a storm. If you don’t have AWD and/or an extremely low riding car, we suggest you park at the top of the road and walk!
