Riverhouse Rio Grande Studio Suite

The Rio Suite is a private and all-inclusive suite inside of a larger 6,000 sq ft house. We are close to Downtown Durango with family-friendly activities, nightlife, public transport, close to the airport and endless adventures. You’ll love our place because of the coziness, comfy beds, and spacious atmosphere with total privacy if you want it. Crystal (matriarch of the fam) knows Durango inside and out! She's a native and loves people. We also have one indoor / outdoor cats named Chess. The space Suites are within a huge ranch style type house, approx. 6000 sq ft that centers around the atrium with waterfall fountain. You cross through a common areas to get to rooms / suites that are completely private with private bathrooms. There's ample space in the common areas even with several guests there. The house has been in our family for over 45 years and has seen several uses, but it's always been home. It's run by 3 generations of women, Crystal, Kate and Sofia, and our great family friend Maya also lives here and is available to help with anything you might need. It's a fabulous spot for family events or group functions such as reunions, weddings, parties. It offers a peace and tranquility to every day life that is perfect for any get-a-way. We do have one house cat, Chess that is very lovable. He may try to come into your room, but please do not let him in. Cats are not allowed in guest rooms because other guests may have allergies. Sofia has two dogs (Millie (Shepard mix) and Nala (choc lab mix) who are occasionally around when Sofia is there. They are very friendly and will want to say hi, but if you don't like dogs just let us know ahead of time and we will put them outside. Happy guests and positive reviews are vital for the health of our business, so if you have any questions or concerns please let us know right away so we can find you the best solution possible. Guest access The house has a lot of common area and guests are welcome to use it. Crystal has coffee and tea set up in the living room and main kitchen is available for use if asked (though your room also has a coffee maker and full kitchen). Crystal is always up for a chat or game of chess or watching Jeopardy if anyone is interested or you'll have total privacy if that's more your style. Other things to note If you arrive early or late and no one is there to greet you, make yourselves at home. We will give you specific directions on where your room is and how to get in if we know we won't be there to greet you. Our Special Use Permit #16-028
