2nd-Fl Private Patio! The House on Hickory!
This historic and charming property is located in the heart of Denton, steps away from Courthouse on the Square. Enjoy easy, walking access to downtown Denton and UNT. This private suite is on the second floor, featuring 1 bedroom, 1 full bathroom, a kitchen and living room area for a total of around 700 square feet. Enjoy hardwood floors throughout and fully luxurious bathrooms. Please note that thanks to the age of the home, the hardwood stairs can be a bit squeaky as well as low ceilings. A historic property built in 1895, The House on Hickory features a total of (5) suites on the property. The entirety of Suite A is on the ground floor, Suites B and C occupy the second floor, and Suite D occupies the third floor. Suite E is the detached single family home on the property, which also houses the laundry room. Though an older property with the usual character like wooden, and sometimes creaky stairs, we really enjoyed breathing new life into this property through an extensive rehab process, and we can't wait to welcome you here! The entirety of the suite is yours, as evidenced by the locking keypad on your suite door. The same code we provide you upon check-in will also get you in the main front door, and also functions on the keypad for access into the laundry on the rear of the property! If you need anything, don't hesitate to reach out via the Airbnb app -- if you don't have the app already we highly suggest you do so; it makes things so much easier for you! Alternatively, our contact number is listed in the guestbook in the event you can't access the Airbnb app. You can text or call. While we do provide a basic starter kit for basic kitchen and bath necessities, if your needs dictate a more specific or exhaustive collection, you are loaded with local store options to meet any of your needs! Set in a historic part of Denton, the property sits close to Courthouse square, on the east-running Hickory Street. The west-running Oak Street is just north of Hickory Street. While part of the historic district, it is not formally on the historic registry. There are a number of homes nestled in between Oak and Hickory Street that have historic designation and have to maintain certain standards for historic reasons. Parking in downtown historic Denton is challenging, specifically on the square itself. It is highly advisable to park at the property and walk to the square and the immediate surrounding area. There are some paid parking lots on the east side of the square if you absolutely require parking, and with a little bit of timing, luck, and patience you might be able to snag a spot on the square.
