Simple serenity on the seaside. Walk straight from your door onto the unspoiled beach of Parlatuvier. Located in the quaint fishing village, Sugar Shack cabin is your answer for the perfect getaway. Paddle away in our two-seater kayak, help “pull seine” with the local fishermen, or relax in the soft golden sand … spend your days away from tourists and experience real Tobago life. Sugar Shack is constructed with all natural materials to compliment the lush environs. While the ocean breeze is abundant, the cabin features air conditioning for added comfort. You have a full kitchen in which to prepare meals, a wide covered patio to catch every sunrise and sunset over the Caribbean Sea and a king bed to rest your rejuvenated body. The cabin includes a full indoor bathroom with shower and an outdoor shower. The living area also features a futon so we can accommodate small children upon request. With its all natural materials designed to fit into the environs, be aware that the cabin is more on the rustic side than luxury. You have the entire cabin and unlimited access to the beach in front. We like to meet all our guests upon arrival and give them a personalized welcome. We are happy and eager to share any recommendations for things to do, see and eat on our lovely island of Tobago. We want you to experience it all like a local. Parlatuvier is a gem. On the northwestern part of Tobago, along the Caribbean coast, the village that stays true to its fishing heritage. You'll see several fishing boats go in and out on their daily runs, and may also see the villagers "pull seine", which is pulling in fishing nets from the beach. If you want, you can even buy fresh fish straight from the fishermen and on some days, freshly baked bread. For other necessities, the village mini-mart is close by. Also located within a short walk is Top River Falls, a little-known waterfall tucked in the lush forest. The water is clear, clean and fresh from the higher hills of the rainforest. You can bathe in the pool at the base or climb to the second level and bath in a deeper pool there. A definite must-do. The drive from the airport to Parlatuvier is about 50 minutes along a beautiful coastal road (be sure to look out for our favorite silk cotton tree growing into the road). We highly recommend renting a vehicle so you can be freer to explore all that Tobago has to offer. However, if you don't intend to move far from Parlatuvier, we can help you hire a car to and from the airport. Two-seater kayak is available at the cabin for use by guests. You can buy fresh fish daily from fisherman at the village jetty.
