Man-O-War Bay Cottages are ideal for nature lovers and bird watchers. Our airy, spacious, beachfront cottages stand amid colourful landscaped grounds - a tropical garden of beautiful shrubs, blooming flowers and a variety of fruit trees. Just a five-minute walk along the beach is the peaceful, picturesque fishing village of Charlotteville, with its local shops and markets, a tropical "supermarket", rum shops (bars) and delightful spots to enjoy a Caribbean delicacy or buy freshly-baked bread. This two-bedroom cottage contains four single-beds. In the cottage you'll find a comfortably furnished living room with a dining area, a kitchen with a 4 burner gas stove, an oven/broiler and a refrigerator. Local cooks are also available upon request. Bathrooms contain a shower with ample hot water. The large windows allow constant flow of tropical sea breezes through the cottages, and are completely screened to keep insects out. While there is no air conditioning, the cottage contains both standing and ceiling fans to ensure that our visitors stay cool and comfortable. In front of the cottage is a roomy open deck inviting you to relax in the midst of nature. The property manager will be present on arrival, and will be a phone call away for the duration of your stay. Although the village is extremely safe, security guards are also present during the night for guests' peace of mind and to assist with any late-night requests. The entire village of Charlotteville lies parallel to the picturesque Man-O-War Bay. These warm, clear waters are perfect for swimming, sunbathing, beach combing, fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving. An outstanding dive shop, staffed by professionally trained instructors, dive masters and boatmen is on the compound. The scuba diving in the area is excellent. Jump off the boat and descend into a fairyland of living coral reefs; seascapes of unbelievable beauty and variety with fish galore. If you would prefer a more laid back experience, there are safe bathing and swimming spots for children and adults alike. The village of Charlotteville is a vibrant but peaceful fishing village, where friendly and helpful villagers can assist with directions or act as knowledgeable guides for local activities. The village has several small shops and produce stands where fresh fish, fruits and vegetables can be sourced every morning. There is also a convenient ATM in the village, next to the public library. Just a 15-minute walk from the village lies the world famous Pirate's Bay, which has been ranked as one of the Caribbean's best beaches. The grounds of the Man-O-War bay cottages are also a bird watcher's paradise. Magnificent frigate birds, boobies, mot-mots, hummingbirds, a variety of colourful tanagers and Bananaquits are just a few of the bird species that frequent the property. Over 160 bird species can be seen up close on Tobago's North Coast and throughout the Charlotteville Estate, which is a 1000-acre cocoa plantation. Man-O-War Bay Cottages are at the north-east end of Tobago, 36 miles from the bustle of the airport. The ride follows the meandering coastal road, offering magnificent views over the sea, and passing through many small villages, coconut plantations and lush forests en route. We can make arrangements for regular taxis to meet you at ANR Robinson Airport if you give us your expected arrival time, or you can hire a cab on arrival. Cars can be rented at the airport or when you get to Man-O-War upon request. All attractions, restaurants and stores in the village of Charlotteville are no more than 5-10 minutes away by foot, or less than a minutes’ drive away.
