This is a wonderful, sun-lit, 100 year old apartment in a quiet neighborhood. It is a peaceful oasis in a wonderful location. We love it here and you will too. It is very family friendly. It is an easy walk to campus, coffee shops and restaurants (92 walkability score!). Out place is available June 22nd - July 2nd/3rd. The space Beautiful, sunlit, fully furnished, 1.5 bedroom apartments in Berkeley, walking distance to campus. It big enough for 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children. This is our home but we rent it out when we go on vacation. We love it here and we are sure you will too. It is a 1.5 bedroom apartment, hardwood floors, lots and lots of light, with a huge deck that overlooks a redwood tree. It feels like an urban oasis surrounded by trees, but is walking distance to shops in the Elmwood neighborhood of Berkeley, complete with coffee shops, grocery store, post office, etc. You will see hummingbirds out the kitchen window and the front yard has lemons, plums and lots of beautiful plants. We just remodeled the kitchen so it is beautiful and packed with modern touches (dishwasher, convection gas stove, garbage disposal, etc). It is about 850 square feet with a nice large living room, eat in kitchen, good sized master bedroom and a small second bedroom. (We would call it a two bedroom but the closet for the second bedroom is just outside the room.) The master bedroom has a queen bed and the small bedroom has a twin. (The photo shows a crib in the small bedroom but there is a twin bed in there now) We have kids so if you are bringing little ones you will find a closet full of toys and a park a block away. (There is a toddler bed in a walk in closet as well) Other amenities include a washing machine/dryer, and high speed wireless internet. We have been greening our home as we go. So far there is a new high efficiency furnace, a new high efficiency on demand water heater, green (recycled) countertops, low/no VOC paints, ultra-low flow toilet (that work great), the (low water use) washing machine waters the garden, etc. It is an older house, just under 100 years, so it has a different vibe than a modern hotel. You have access to the entire property including the deck, with a private entrance. It is all private, none of it is shared. A family lives downstairs, so no parties please. A note on beds: There is a queen bed in the main bedroom. There is a twin bed that has a trundle bed under it in the small bedroom. There is a fourth bed in the walk in closet, suitable only for small children. (Small children LOVE it, but it is not big enough for adults.) Because the house only has 1 bathroom, it is not really big enough for 4 adults. 2 adults and 2 children work fine. That's what we do. Guest access Entire house, including deck. Other things to note Because we live here, we are not going to remove all our personal things. The place will be totally clean, we'll make sure you have plenty of drawer and closet space, we'll clear off the desks, etc., but we are not planning on taking down the kids art from the wall, etc. Also, we hope you will leave our house in the same condition that you find it.
