The Red House

The Red House is a spacious, sunny haven in a peaceful and quiet setting that feels rural, yet is 16 miles from the heart of downtown Austin. The house is situated on 1.39 acres, shared with a larger red house 200 feet away where your hosts, live. Relax on the front porch, watch the hummingbirds vie for the feeders and listen to the birds perched in the tree that shades the porch. Enjoy a cozy fire in the chiminea out back. Kick back and relax in this calm, stylish space. The space The Red House offers all the comforts of home. The space offers plentiful seating with plenty of light for reading, remote working, watching TV, or streaming and surfing via the high-speed Wifi. The bedroom features a comfortable Casper foam king-sized bed and spacious bathroom with walk-in closet. Cook a fabulous meal in the fully equipped eat-in kitchen, fit for a gourmet cook, or enjoy take out from many restaurants nearby. We have a treasured family piano nearly 100 years old, in a sunny alcove off the living room. We have an acoustic guitar available upon request for musicians. The house is 1100-square feet, one-bedroom, one bath with an additional room with a baby grand piano and a workspace with desk and comfortable office chair. Guest access You will have access to the entire house, front porch, carport and back yard seating area. The driveway is shared. We have keyless, coded entry with motion detector lighting. There is a motion activated security camera on the front porch. We live on the property. While we love meeting our guests, we respect your privacy and will let you ‘be’ unless you need us. We are dedicated to making your stay comfortable and enjoyable. We love it here! Other things to note There are many hiking and biking trails nearby, including the Veloway, a 3.1 mile paved track for bikes and rollerblades. Enjoy a stroll down our quiet street and admire the beauty of our neighborhood. Marvel at the beauty of the stars in the night sky. Austin is a mecca for live music, outdoor enthusiasts, artists, families, BBQ lovers, and has a fabulous restaurant scene. We are located a convenient drive to several of Texas’ beautiful state parks. Local restaurants, coffee shops, and grocery stores are a short drive away. We are happy to make recommendations to some of our favorite places, such as Barton Springs pool, shopping and nightlife on South Congress Avenue, and many fabulous restaurants in our city’s vibrant and creative restaurant scene.
