Mid-century Modern Treehouse in the Berkshires
Get cozy with the whole family at this secluded, midcentury modern 4-bedroom, 3-bathroom getaway minutes from the Berkshires. Ski nearby Jiminy Peak, Butternut, and Catamount in winter. Swim and boat at Adam's Point Beach on Queechy Lake in the summer before grilling on our deck. The house is baby-friendly with a safe, standard crib, changing table, diaper genie, and toys. Bring your dog or cat (we have two litter boxes ) too. You cannot see another house (or soul) from this quiet, modern getaway nestled in the foothills of the Berkshires. Tastefully decorated with furniture from West Elm, the property offers 4 full, private bedrooms, a full crib, 3 full bathrooms, a fully finished walkout basement with television, gaming system, and treadmill, as well as a spacious south-facing deck. There's comfortable space for the whole family, in a 3-floor cozy home that's minutes from skiing, hiking, shopping, and many breweries, as well as offering summertime access to Adams Point Beach at nearby Queechy Lake. Guests will have access to the entire house and shed. The house is located just outside Canaan, New York, in rural Columbia County, on a well maintained gravel road. For most of the year, no other homes are visible (and you really have to search to see our neighbors). A train line is nearby, and you'll occasionally hear trains and distant road noises when the leaves are down. Queechy Lake and Adams Point Beach are a 5-minute drive away. For skiers, it's 17 miles to Jiminy Peak, 20 to Butternut & 22 to Catamount, and 10 miles to the smaller Bousquet mountain near Pittsfield, MA. Hudson, NY is 40 minutes away. Great Barrington, MA is 25 minutes away. You will need a car to access our property, and enjoy everything the area has to offer, including getting groceries. The house is located on a well-maintained gravel road with an incline. In winter, when it snows, the road is always plowed very early in the morning. The driveway also has an incline and accesses both the front door and the basement door, but can be a bit difficult to navigate in snow and ice. If weather is bad, it's easy to park at the bottom of the driveway and enter the house through the basement entrance.
