Apartment in the countryside

Quiet country place to relax. Second story apartment, separated, private, 150 feet from my main house. Just 10 minutes into Lockhart. I do have a requirement that you have at least one review from other airbnb hosts. The space This is an entire apartment on the second story of a two story building. The first story is only for storage and my use. The apartment has one bedroom, one 5 x 8 bathroom with bathtub/shower, kitchen, and living space. It is approximately 500 sq ft of space. It was remodeled in May 2018. The living space has a small dining table with two chairs, a loveseat and chair, and a 32 inch wall-mounted un-smart TV with antenna-only reception. No cable. No wifi. There is a dvd player, HDMI to HDMI cable. The kitchen has cabinet space available for food items you bring, two wooden bar stools and bar counter, refrigerator, microwave, stove/oven. A few basic cooking pans and utensils will be provided. There is a Keurig coffee brewer (with reusable pods too). There is a small entry porch that has a couple of chairs and more outside seating below and in the yard. We have slow spotty wifi, limited data. You have to ask if you need to use. A couple of guests have commented that their phone coverage was bad. I'm not sure which networks they used but T-Mobile does not work well out here. My Verizon phone works well and I believe AT&T is good here. The building itself is plain on the outside, built for function, not frills. I store a few things down below the overhang, like mowers, etc. The apartment is about 150 feet from the back door of my house so it is considerably private. It is at the end of a private driveway that is shared with my home. The views out the apartment windows are of either my yard or pasture. I have about an acre of yard that I keep up, with several other acres as pasture with cattle. There are tall established trees around my yard and many native smaller trees, bushes, and plants. Lots of color in the spring and fall that draws butterflies and bees. In the winter, as would be expected, not as much foliage around but still nice to sit around outside if you can catch a warm day. You can see occasional wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, jackrabbits, coyotes, ducks, birds. Hawks, Caracara, and turkey vultures are seen flying around often. I have black-bellied whistling ducks that roost in the area frequently. I expect this place to be a welcome place for someone who wants a nice quiet place to relax inside or outside when the weather behaves. It's a good place to bird watch especially in the spring and just to enjoy nature. It's 10 minutes from Lockhart if you want to go enjoy the BBQ the town is known for, visit the beautiful court house downtown, and other eating, drinking, and shopping experiences. Downtown Lockhart keeps its historic look but also has some great places new and old to check out (a toy/candy shop, a new record shop, coffee shop, bakeries, pizza, cafe, bars). I like it fairly quiet at my place so I expect you to respect that. Acoustic guitar playing outside is acceptable, but no loud music please. Guest access There is a covered area underneath by the apartment staircase where you are welcome to sit outside. You are also welcome to enjoy some of the shady or sunny spots in my large yard. Feel free to walk around in the yard. Ask permission if you want to go in the pasture. I have wifi but it is limited data and slower than what most people are used to (HughesNet satellite). Discuss with me about possible access to the wifi if needed. It is spotty reaching the apartment. There is not currently any washer and dryer for the apartment. Other things to note I have one medium-sized female dog, pretty well behaved. She sleeps in my house but generally runs around outside off and on during the day. She can be contained if that is a problem for you but I don't anticipate it would be. She does like to sit on the apartment stairs sometimes, for the view and to keep tabs on things. The water heater for the apartment is a tankless/on-demand water heater to conserve energy and is in an open closet area. I have these heaters in my house also and they work very well for me. It may need to be adjusted for changes in summer/winter/ weather changes and sometimes for personal preferences. I'll be sure to explain this to you more. For AC or heating there are two mini-split AC units, one for the living area and one for the bedroom. They are on the upper wall, very quiet, and have worked out well. I do have a requirement that you have at least one recommendation on your profile from other airbnb hosts before you can book this apartment. There are about 2 miles of driving on a dirt road that is required to get here so your car can get dirty/dusty depending on how dry it is. Not to scare you but there can be occasional snakes outside but I don't think any guests have seen any yet. Ah the joys of Texas country living.
