Description

Sequoia Falls, a riverfront zen retreat home in Three Rivers, California is the ultimate base camp for exploring the Sequoia National Park, the ideal meeting place for families and friends, and a creative sanctuary for those seeking inspiration and renewal. We are located 3.5 hours from Los Angeles, 4.5 hours from San Francisco, 70 miles from Fresno Yosemite International Airport, and 3 miles from the entrance to Sequoia National Park. If you've not seen the Sequoias, now is the time! The space Sequoia Falls is a 4 bedroom/ 4 bathroom modern, resort-style estate on park-like 3 acres, completely fenced, with private beach and expansive river frontage - the main house has 3 bedrooms/3 bathrooms; the private detached guest house has 1 bedroom/1 bathroom. (8-10 guest max) We offer high-speed Spectrum cable internet (up to 1Gig!) with expansive Wifi and Apple TV's for streaming. With 4 bedrooms, we can comfortably accommodate 8 adults in beds. The guest house has a sofa that lies flat to accommodate 1 adult, or 2 small kids. Please contact Chris directly for questions about accommodating more than 8 guests as we sometimes make exceptions to our 8 guests max for small kids on a case by case basis, and additional fees apply. We also have a Pack n' Play and sleeping bags. Three Rivers is perched in the Sierra Nevada foothills at 1200ft, so it does not snow at the property during our mild winters. However, when you take the drive up into the Sequoia Park (5000ft+), it becomes a Winter Wonderland. Play in the snow and explore the Sequoias in the day, and then come down to your riverfront retreat for S'mores and hot chocolate around the campfire. Winter is a perfect time to get away! Sequoia National Park, America’s second oldest national park, is a must do day trip. No visit is complete without walking among the giant sequoias, including the General Sherman, believed to be the largest (and among the oldest at 2,300–2,700 years) living trees on the planet. Whether you pack your own picnic lunches (or pick them up from our local Yelp-Top 100 rated sandwich shop), having a picnic in Sequoia Park is an unforgettable experience. You can also opt for lunch at the Wuksachi Lodge, located just a few miles past the turn-off for the General Sherman tree. Once you've walked the trail to the General Sherman tree, hiked the steps to the soaring peak of Moro Rock, explored the Crystal Cave and strolled through Crescent Meadow (and likely spotted black bears grazing), then it's time to come down the mountain where your luxury compound awaits: cook out on the grill, enjoy a nice bottle of wine, and roast S'mores around the campfire. After marveling at all the stars, you can retire to your private, well-appointed suite and let the river lull you into a restful sleep. Guest access Exclusive use of a 3 acre, fully-fenced property. (Once you enter gates and begin driving down driveway, the first structure you pass is our private warehouse and is not a part of the rental. The "work shed" near large picnic table is also private and not included in the rental.) Sorry, but NO WEDDINGS or SPECIAL EVENTS (8-10 guest max.) Other things to note SEQUOIA FALLS RENTAL RULES AND REGULATIONS 1. Guests are expected to care for the property as if it were their own. Guests agree to notify owner of any accidental damage and assume liability. 2. We consider well-behaved and house-broken pets ONLY. If you're interested in bringing a dog, first read our Pet Policy below, and then select PET on your inquiry. If you decide later that you’d like to bring your pet, you agree to notify Chris so that your reservation can be updated. There is a $175 pet fee/per stay. 3. Check in: 4:00pm* (*For an earlier check-in time, please inquire.) Check out: 11:00am* (*For a later check-out time, please inquire.) 4. This is a NON-SMOKING property. Due to dry conditions in the Sierra Nevada foothills, fires can be easily sparked by cigarettes. In 2017, Three Rivers had a major fire sparked by a discarded cigarette. 5. Sequoia Falls is in a quiet residential neighborhood, and to be good neighbors, we DO NOT rent the house for loud parties, weddings or social gatherings. We ask that you treat our neighbors and their guests with respect by not trespassing, making excessive noise or playing loud music. 6. SAFETY: We want you to enjoy the amazing setting, but please exercise caution near the river, walkways, steps and trails. Children and pets are not permitted near the river unsupervised. FOOTWEAR: We suggest wearing protective foot covering while on the property and water shoes when entering the river. Please be careful when stepping on rocks as moss makes them slippery. RIVER WARNING & DISCLAIMER This establishment borders the Kaweah River, which in peak months (approximately May-July), can be an extremely fast moving and potentially dangerous river. You and all members of your party enter the river, riverbanks and adjacent areas at your sole risk and peril. No lifeguards or trained rescue personnel are on duty. You take full responsibility for the supervision of children, guests and pets at all times. SEQUOIA FALLS PET POLICY: We travel with our dogs so we like to extend that courtesy to our guests, however, our property is not suitable for all dogs. PLEASE READ the following: 1. Guests to pay a $175 pet fee/per stay. 2. Guests are responsible for cleaning up all pet refuse outside. IMPORTANT: If your dog has an accident inside on a rug or the carpet in bedrooms, you agree to notify Chris so he can make arrangements with housekeeping to steam clean on day of departure to minimize impact on our future guests. 3. While the 3-acre property is fenced, with several different areas of containment, when you open the gates to the river, the river creates a natural breach in containment. We recommend ALWAYS leashing pets near the river. SAFETY NOTE: In late May, June and early July, the river can be extremely swift and potentially dangerous to unsuspecting, unleashed dogs. Owners don’t allow their dogs anywhere near the river without a leash and harness! 4. During summer months, it is possible to encounter rattlesnakes in the Sierra Nevada foothills. You may consider having your pet vaccinated with the Red Rock rattlesnake vaccine. The owners vaccinate their dogs every 6 months. 5. All dogs MUST be treated for fleas & ticks with a topical or chewable Rx like NexGard prior to arrival. Please consult your vet. 6. In the garage/laundry room (opposite front door), a DOG SUPPLY CLOSET has been provided with blankets, towels and sheets to be used to protect furniture (sofas and beds), along with dog beds, bowls, toys, and treats. 7. Pets should not be left unattended for an undue length of time, either indoors or out. If a pet is left unattended, a crate is recommended to prevent unnecessary damage to property. Ask Chris about taking pet into the Park. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to ask Chris.
