Farnon Suite at Skeldale House

Skeldale House is the original filming location of All Creatures Great & Small. The Farnon suite has a beautiful double aspect view over the pretty village of Askrigg. With sumptuous décor and a compact but ultra-slick kitchen / diner area, and fabulous bathroom with roll top bath, this studio apartment oozes mid-century style and sophistication. And of course you can catch up on your favourite episode of All Creatures Great and Small on the 58’’ 4K Ultra HD Smart TV! The space The Farnon Suite (and Herriot Suite) are our largest studio apartments, and feature a sofa bed in the bedroom / living area which makes it best suited to 2 adults plus one or two children rather than additional adults. You enter through a small hallway which has doors to the bathroom or lounge. Lounge / Bedroom This large room has a sofa bed which is probably best suited to additional children rather than adults as it is in the same room as the main bed. There is a gorgeous original fireplace (no longer in use), antique and contemporary furniture and a fabulously comfortable kingsize bed with illuminated timber feature wall behind. A variety of lighting choices will allow you to set the mood for your stay. These suites offer the best views out over the town, church and village square with beautiful tall georgian sash windows with wooden casements making them look very grand. There is a 58' Panasonic 4k Smart TV with Netflix, plus you can also stream your apps from your mobile devices. Kitchen: A compact but thoughtfully designed kitchen includes a Neff oven / microwave, induction hob, slim dishwasher, fridge with freezer compartment. There is a beautiful gold sink with composite marble worktop and lots of cooking utensils, pans manual espresso machine etc. There is a small table for two set in the large georgian windows with lovely views overlooking the town, and beyond. Bathroom: The Bathroom is a good size with a roll top bath, with shower screen and shower above. There is a handy vanity unit with sink and drawers beneath plus WC. We also provide fabulous organic, vegan and paraben free shower gel, shampoo, conditioner, hand wash, and hand / body lotion by H2K of Harrogate. AS NEW OWNERS, UNFORTUNATELY WE CANNOT BRING ACROSS THE OLDER REVIEW SCORES. IT WAS 4.9 PREVIOUSLY Other things to note Nestled in the heart of North Yorkshire, the Yorkshire Dales and the charming village of Askrigg offer breathtaking landscapes and a tranquil escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life. It is on the Herriot Way path and has some fantastic walking. The mountain biking and road cycling in the area is excellent but steep! Electric bike anyone? Close by we have Hawes with the creamery, Bolton Castle, Malham with its Tarn, and open water swimming in SemerWater just 15mins away. Askrigg has 3 pubs which serve food, the Bakewell cafe and bakery and the local shop sells most things you would need on a short break. In the surrounding area of Askrigg, visitors can enjoy scenic walks along the picturesque Yorkshire Dales, perfect for both leisurely strolls and challenging hikes.
