The boathouse was renovated in the summer of 2018. It sleeps 2 people, has a spacious new bathroom, full kitchen and both a covered porch and a roof top deck to enjoy the sunrise and sunsets. It is directly on the water and has plenty of parking. It is for rent in addition to our main vacation home (Lake Mitchell Retreat) at a discounted price in May and Sept or as a stand-alone rental when we are in residence in the main cottage. We close it from mid-October 1 to May 1 each year. Guests have access to the entire property when rented in addition to the main house. When rented separately you will have shared access to the backyard, waterfront, fire pit, dock, paddle boards, kayaks and covered porch that is under the boathouse. The outdoor space will be shared with our family when we are in residence but there will be no other renters. Please note there are steps both inside and to get to some of the outdoor space. We love to met our guests when possible but we do not live on the premises full time. We are only 30 minutes away so can usually respond promptly if we are needed on site for any reason. Occasionally we will make arrangements to stop by to mow the lawn, water the flowers, or shovel snow while you are there. On the shores of Lake Mitchell the Boathouse is close to Cadillac West and just minutes from Caberfae Ski Resort, Lake Cadillac, downtown Cadillac, several golf courses, great restaurants and hiking trails. Most people have a private vehicle for local transportation. There is limited cab and bus service in the area. Complimentary coffee and teas are included. Wifi is available at no charge.
