The space Nestled in a quiet lane within the boulevard of Pondicherry colonised by French, The villa restored and maintained lovingly from nearly 10 decades, the House has the heritage with seamless blend of classic Tamil architecture and pan-European sensibilities. The charming little 'thinnai' or sit-out at the entrance traditionally invites anyone passing by to relax and rest a while. A beautiful, open Tamil courtyard welcomes the first rays of the sun and offers the perfect spots to unwind, read a book, or simply do nothing at all. The colourful walls and colonial-style beds are constant reminders of influences from across the seas. Every bit of furniture in the House is a carefully hand-picked piece of history. Our three rustic bedrooms are tastefully furnished with antique beds, cupboards and other vintage things. Of course, air-conditioning, geysers and comforts of a boutique hotel do exist, but they do not intrude. Still, nothing feels quite like home unless there's a friendly kitchen; so our fully-equipped cooking space lets you make your coffee and comfort foods just the way you like it at home. There are plenty of open spaces around the House to relax. Guest access There's no dearth of open spaces. Feel free to use our 'thinnai', lounge around the Tamil courtyard, open-to-sky corridor, patio and garden. There is also a fully-functional kitchen equipped with a gas stove, refrigerator, essential pots, pans and cutlery. Other things to note 1. PARKING: Parking on the road is generally safe and is common in Pondicherry since most houses / guest houses do not have a car park. If you're renting a bike, you can safely park it in front of the house. 2. QUIET GROUPS: The apartment is suitable only for those looking to spend a quiet and peaceful holiday in Pondicherry. If you wish to host a party or are likely to be a loud group, please give our property a miss this time and do come back when you're feeling more Zen 3. EARLY CHECK-IN: An early check-in will depend on whether we have guests staying the previous night. If we don't, we'd be happy to give you an early check-in. In case we do, you're welcome to leave your bags with us and come back later for your check-in. When our manager calls you the day before your arrival, you can check with him/her on this. (Additional charges may apply) 4. LATE CHECK-OUT: Our housekeeper will need to clean and prep the room for the next guest at check-out time. So a late checkout may not be possible. An option would be to leave your bags in the common area and to pick it up later 5. All our rooms are Non-smoking. 6. All bookings between December 15th to January 15th are non-refundable. 7. Local residents won't be allowed to check-in rights of admission reserved.
