Sequoia Forest Retreat—Riverfront Home

Time to unwind and get acquainted with the mountain life! Only 15 minutes from the park entrance, our property is the perfect homebase for your Sequoia National Park adventures. Explore the flora and fauna on this four-acre property, host family dinner in the spacious kitchen-dining area, or do some treetop yoga on the canopied deck. The space The main floor of this unique, multi level home is all living space! A fully equipped kitchen and spacious dining area provide plenty of room to prepare and serve meals for the family. There are two living areas with ample seating and a rock fireplace. The living areas are flanked by a large deck overlooking the property (and the S. Fork River when its running!). Head downstairs for 3 bedrooms (two with queen size beds and one with 4 twin size beds) and a bathroom. Step up from the main level to a cozy reading room and master bedroom (queen size bed) with an office nook. Guest access Guests have access to the entirety of the house and property, excluding the garage and the guesthouse on the other side of the driveway. Note that there may be guests staying in this guesthouse during your stay. They will not intrude on any of the space of the main house, so rest assured you will have all the privacy you need. Other things to note While we made your cabin as comfortable as possible, we still are located in a remote wilderness area and encourage our guests to prepare for some rustic experiences. That can mean hot summers or the occasional four-to-eight-legged friend around the property or grounds (lizards, small forest mice, spiders, mosquitoes, etc). See the aerial photo of the property in the listing--we are clearly located in the middle of THEIR home. We are an extension of the Greater Sierra Nevada Ecosystem, so it’s all part of the fun! At this time, Verizon’s cellular service is weak to nonexistent at the property and in the South Fork area. For the safety of our guests, we maintain an outdoor security camera covering the entrance to the cabin. As part of the Greater Sierra Ecosystem, we like to keep an eye on bear activity on trash days, hazardous elements including fires, and other precautionary measures to make sure that you have a safe and smooth stay. Fire season typically falls between summer and early fall in the area, so air quality may be unhealthy during this time, particularly among sensitive groups. There is a delightful neighborhood dog named Henry Pepper (black lab) who loves to come to say hello to guests. The creek in the backyard is seasonal and increases/decreases in size depending on the time of year. We hope you enjoy this neck of the woods as much as we do.
