Enjoy a charming stay at a craft-themed Japanese bed and breakfast only an hour's drive from central Fukuoka. Originally a store and residence during the Edo period, this renovated inn is now an accommodation facility highlighting Japanese architecture, furniture, and traditional crafts made by local Kyushu makers. Enjoy freshly brewed Yame tea over an indigo-dyed table and soak in the spacious cedar bath. During your time in the Indigo Room, indulge in a full sensory craft experience. The space The Indigo Room is a private, 2-story room that showcases the indigo crafts of Kyushu makers. ~1st Floor~ Upon entering, find a spacious Japanese-style tatami room to enjoy Yame tea, snacks, and breakfast (included in your stay). The bathroom, shower, and cedar tub are located on the first floor. ~2nd Floor~ Upstairs is a large, brightly lit space with a sleeping area, a table and chairs by the window, an amenity corner, a water cooler, and a refrigerator. *Please note that the stairs are quite steep. If you prefer to sleep on the first floor, please contact us. Fluffy futon mattresses are provided as bedding. ~Entryway~ Outside the Indigo Room is a shared hallway that leads to the inn’s entry. There is a collection of local crafts, books, and souvenirs. ~Other Guest Room~ The Bamboo Room is another guest room we operate in the same building. If you would like to reserve the entire inn, please book both rooms. Only the inn's main entry is shared. Due to the nature of being a traditional Japanese building, you may hear noises from the neighborhood or the other room. ~Breakfast~ Breakfast is prepared using local ingredients and is served in a special bamboo and wood container. Children’s breakfast and plans without meals are also available. Please contact us for details. *Dinner is not provided with any room plan, but we can provide nearby dining recommendations. ~Traveling with Children~ If you are traveling with children under 5 years of age who do not require their own bed or breakfast, you do not need to include them in the guest count. (However, please let us know.) For all other guests, please include them so we can prepare accordingly. ~Staff~ Staff are not permanently stationed at the front desk and will not be present in the evening. We ask our guests to take care of locking the door when they go out. ~Room Cleaning~ For stays of consecutive nights, days of garbage collection and towel change only are alternated with days of normal cleaning. (ex. Day 1 - garbage and towels only, Day 2- normal cleaning, Day 3- garbage and towels only, etc.) Garbage collection and towel change takes about 15 minutes, while regular cleaning takes 2-3 hours. Cleaning takes place between 10:00-13:00. If you have special requests, please contact us individually. Guest access ~Parking~ Free outdoor parking is available near the inn. Parking is available before check-in and after check-out. The inn is accessible by car, less than 1 hour from Fukuoka Airport, Kumamoto Airport, and Saga Airport. You can also reach the inn via public transportation either by (train + taxi) or (bus + walking). *We apologize, but we do not have wheelchair-accessible rooms. ~Luggage Storage~ Luggage can be kept at the front desk from 1:00 p.m. on the day of check-in until 1:00 p.m. on the day of check-out. Please take your valuables with you and contact us in advance if you wish to leave your luggage with us. During your stay Our staff is available during check-in, check-out, and breakfast time. If you need assistance outside of this time, you can reach us by message, phone, or email. Other things to note ~Craft Experiences~ We can organize add-on tours to meet local craftsmen and participate in hands-on experiences. Please contact us if you are interested! Reservations are required generally 1 week in advance.
