Sequoia Bears Cabin: Spacious 3 BR w/Mountain View

Enjoy being surrounded by nature, take in the fresh air on our extra large deck, and enjoy beautiful views of Slate Mountain. Located in the Sequoia National Forest, the adventures are endless: hiking, fishing, snowmobiling, biking, etc. The space Kitchen: The kitchen is fully stocked with silverware, dinnerware, blender, toaster, electric kettle, coffee maker, and slow cooker Bedrooms: Each of our bedrooms has extra bedding in the closet in case you are cold at night Laundry Room: The laundry room has detergent and softener Living Room/Dining Room: We have a Roku in the TV in the living room, puzzles, cards, and a 8 person dining room table Bathroom: We have two full bathrooms Guest access Guests have access to the 1.5 acres of the property, with the exception of the barn which is not open for guests. Other things to note 2020 SQF Fire and 2021 Windy Fire: These fires destroyed areas of the Sequoia Forest surrounding Camp Nelson. Many areas of the forest are closed to the public. Please refer to USDA Forest Service Site for the latest closures. Remote Location: We have made the cabin as comfortable as possible, but we are still in a remote location, and encourage our guests to prepare for rustic experiences. This can mean hot summers, power outages, wifi outages, and limited cell service. We think these are fair trade-offs for the fresh air and good views. Summer Travelers: We do not have Air Conditioning, we do have new ceiling fans in every bedroom, and a space fan in the living area. Winter Travelers: Chains may be required, please check the weather forecast for Camp Nelson before your arrival and plan accordingly. HWY 190 is closed past Ponderosa after it snows in the winter. Forest Critters: We are in the forest. Occasional ants and bugs do get into the house despite our best efforts. You also may see occasional critters in the woods - we've seen plenty of deer, bears, a few raccoons, and lots of birds. Please admire them from a distance. Take extra caution to not leave any trash or food outside.
