Description

Beautiful, secluded 3 BR Santa Fe style stucco home in Crestone's Baca Grande. Just steps from Cottonwood Creek and the National Forest and minutes from Crestone, 3 hot springs, and Great Sand Dunes National Park. 3 spacious bedrooms and 2 living areas provide ample space for groups. Share home cooked meals in the gourmet kitchen and light-filled dining area or the beautiful courtyard. Relax in this special setting and enjoy the unique and spiritual beauty of the San Luis Valley! The space This custom built Southwestern style house has windows ALL the way around, filling each room with natural light. Enjoy views of the San Luis Valley, the Sangre de Cristo mountains, and the beautiful old growth pinon pines growing on the property. Each room in the house has French doors leading outside, giving every single space the feeling of a unique and special retreat. With a Queen size Murphy bed offering extra flexibility, the 3rd bedroom can be set up as a bedroom, an office or a yoga space - perfect for smaller groups wanting some extra room to work, exercise or meditate. A kiva fireplace adds warmth and character to the living room, and a second living area features extra comfy couches and a 50" TV for movie nights and game time. Radiant in-floor heat throughout the home will keep you toasty warm in winter, and the travertine tile floors, screened windows, and shaded forest location keep things cool and breezy in summer. The living area features vaulted ceilings and dark wood beams for a classic Southwestern ambiance. A private enclosed courtyard with an outdoor fireplace is the perfect place to enjoy fresh air and good company, and its arched gateway leads out onto the rest of the property - a wonderful place for kids to explore and play. There is ample parking for several vehicles and a large RV parking space for any trailers or other larger vehicles. We invite you to come and enjoy this one-of-a-kind southern Colorado retreat. Situated right on the edge of the incredible Sangre de Cristo Wilderness and overlooking the vast San Luis Valley, the recreation possibilities are as endless as the views. You will not want to leave! Guest access All parts of the home will be accessible to guests, including a large laundry room with full size front loading washer and dryer and plenty of open pantry shelving for storing food and other supplies. Other things to note Being on the fringe of a mountainous wilderness area, the neighborhood does experience visits by bears. Please keep all trash within the container provided and keep the container secured in its gated area. If you have excess trash, please plan to take it with you when you leave. (Please also never let your dogs run loose - this is a violation of the neighborhood covenants, and puts both them and the local wildlife in danger!) We encourage you to honor the Crestone way of life and adopt sustainable practices while staying here - we provide plenty of dishes and silverware, hand towels, and cloth napkins to help reduce waste, as well as nontoxic cleaners. The two food co-ops in town offer plenty of delicious grocery options with minimal packaging. We don't currently have a way to offer recycling, so we encourage you to take bottles and plastics with you to recycle elsewhere, rather than adding them to our trash. Thank you for your consideration and for reducing your environmental footprint!
