Boat Watchers Paradise-Amazing Views on the Muskegon Channel-A Private Haven!
Welcome to The Channel House! A unique and special find perched atop the highest point on the Muskegon Channel. Enjoy a very private space with 180 degree views from Muskegon Lake in the east to Lake Michigan in the west. The house sits alone, high on a bluff so the amazing views belong to you and you alone. A boat watcher's paradise, enjoy an endless parade of watercraft. You’ll be amazed and there is no other view on the channel quite like it. The space We welcome respectful family groups. This is not a party house. A newly updated cozy 3 bed 3 bath home. Smart TV's are found in the main living room as well as both queen bedrooms. The Kid’s room has 2 bunkbeds, twin over twin and twin over full with a single pull out trundle. The kitchen is well equipped for meal prep including standard spices and other basics needed for cooking. There is plenty of outdoor space for play, relaxing and dining with a Weber gas grill, two outdoor dining sets, 3 decks, egg chairs, hammock trees and a rustic firepit. There is much to do in the area to make those great vacations memories. It’s only a short walk to Michigan’s best beach-Pere Marquette on Lake Michigan. The beach is very clean and regularly groomed and sifted. There is a large play structure for the little ones as well as restrooms and concession area. Play in the water, build a sandcastle, fly a kite, take a kite-boarding lesson, rent a boat, seadoo or paddleboard and so much more. Harbour Towne Beach is a short walk in the other direction and sits on the shore of Muskegon Lake. If the “Big Lake” is too rough or cold, consider Harbour Towne Beach. Both beaches are very walk-able, however if you have little ones and a bunch of gear, consider driving. Parking at both beaches is metered. Walk the entire length of the paved channel and take a tour of the lighthouse at the west end. It’s quite a climb up and it’s not for the faint of heart but well worth the view. Bring your fishing pole and do some channel fishing, license is required. For history buffs, the USS Silversides Submarine Museum is a stone’s throw away and a big feature in your backyard view. Consider visiting for a great day of WWII submarine history. Two fantastic seasonal restaurants are within walking distance from The Channel House. Docker’s Fish House is a very short walk. Here you’ll find great food with a varied menu. Live entertainment Friday through Sunday. The Deck is right on the beach at Pere Marquette to the north of the Pier. The menu consists of smoked meats and sauces with delicious sides and a variety of other items. The Deck also features live music on the weekends. For boaters, a launch ramp is available at Harbour Towne Marina for a daily fee. There are several other nearby boat launch sites along the Muskegon Lake shoreline. If you have a large watercraft, consider a transient slip at Harbour Towne Marina, availability may be limited however. If you’d like to venture farther out, consider visiting our revitalized Downtown Muskegon area with unique restaurants, craft breweries and makers of distilled spirits, cute shops as well as a terrific Farmer’s Market. Heritage Landing hosts many summertime activities and festivals. Michigan’s Adventure Amusement and Water Park is a 30 minute drive for a full day of family fun and West Michigan has many quaint towns to visit along the coast. Come stay at The Channel House and experience all that West Michigan has to offer: Brilliant Beaches and Fun Festivals, Miles and Miles of nature and bike trails, parks and dunes, restaurants and breweries. PJ Hoffmaster State park is approximately 15 minutes away.
