Description
78 miles from Minneapolis/St. Paul, it’s just the right distance from the metro area. Long enough of a drive to decompress on the way there, but not so long anyone will be asking: are we there yet?! Whether looking for a change of scenery in your work from home routine for a week, a weekend getaway, or even a longer stay, we offer a cozy, comfortable, stylish spot with all of the amenities you will need. Just a wander through the house filled with lifetimes of treasures is an experience. The space The kitchen is outfitted for any kind of cooking creations (except no microwave) with all tools easily accessible including a large charcoal grill on the patio. Potentially sleeps up to 7 adults in all seasons. One bedroom with a queen bed, one with two double beds, and an office with a (twin) pull out couch bed. [In warmer months the side sleeping porch has a bunk bed available with a double bed on the bottom and a twin on top thus expanding capacity by 3 for a total of 10 sleeping spaces.] There are two office areas in the house: one in the living space downstairs and one in an upstairs bedroom. The workspaces are ample and flexible to suit your needs. The home has fiber optic high-speed internet. Games and puzzles, both indoor and outdoor, are all around and yours to enjoy during your stay. The patio features outdoor furniture and a hot tub for your enjoyment in all seasons. The front porch swing is a good place to read and watch traffic on the small country road. Paths throughout the 15 acres are groomed and ready for you to explore. Please use caution, though, as some creek hopping is required depending on rainfall! Several options throughout the grounds for outdoor fires and even campsites. An outdoor shower (with hot water) is a treat to enjoy. In winter the house can be heated with a wood stove that does a good job for the whole house for guests interested in and familiar with heating with wood. Detailed instructions on how to start and manage the stove are in the house manual. Option to opt into simple chicken chores in exchange for enjoying fresh eggs daily (assuming they are laying!). Please Note: All outbuildings cordoned off by rope are expressly off-limits due to their general state of decline after decades of not being a working farm. Guest access Entire house and grounds exclusive of out buildings which are off limits
