Borealis Cottage by Siskiwit Bay

Borealis Cottage sits on a 2-acre, private, wooded lot in the sustainably designed Sawgrass Community of Cornucopia. Light-filled cottage with open floor plan includes a sleeping loft, screened porch, gas fireplace, and fully-equipped kitchen. A quick, quiet walk from the cottage takes you to a private wooded path with access to Cornucopia Beach on Siskiwit Bay. Explore the Apostle Islands National Lakeshore--our cottage is located 4 miles from Meyers Beach and 20 miles from Bayfield. The space Comfortably furnished living area includes a futon for extra sleeping space. Queen-sized bed in sleeping loft with lamps and cozy bedding. The living area futon may be used for extra sleeping space (double-size mattress). We will provide extra linens/pillows for guests who need sleeping space for 4. The bathroom is stocked with fresh linens as well as a hair dryer and other bathroom essentials. Large screened porch furnished with a picnic table and chairs for relaxing and taking in the view toward Siskiwit Bay. Kitchen is equipped with pots & pans, coffee maker, plates, cups, utensils, etc. Seating available at kitchen island or small kitchen table. Gas grill provided. Guest access A short walk or quick drive will bring you to the quaint village of Cornucopia. Sandy Cornucopia Beach is within walking distance. Venture to Meyers Beach, just 4 miles from our cottage. Or travel 20 miles to Bayfield. Other things to note ENTERTAINMENT: Borealis Cottage does not have a TV. We feel strongly that the "noise" of a TV will greatly detract from guests' and our experience at this tranquil place. We would like Borealis Cottage to offer a retreat from the busy pace and distractibility of daily life that already includes so much screen time. The cottage does have a nice selection of books and games, however. COLD WEATHER AND SNOW: We heat the cottage with a propane fireplace and electric baseboard heat, and we provide lap blankets and cozy bedding. However, it's likely the cottage will feel more "drafty" in the colder months, so please pack accordingly. We recommend bringing slippers! Additionally, the driveway and Sawgrass roads will be plowed regularly during the winter months, and our housekeeper will shovel the deck and stairs between bookings. If it snows during your stay, we will ask you to shovel the front porch and stairs yourself. If you are unable or unwilling to do this, please let us know, and we'll make arrangements for you.
