Welcome to the Rock Lake Guest House. Situated right on Rock Lake and only minutes away from charming "legendary" Lake Mills, this bright and light filled home gives you a stunning private wooded retreat with tree top views from every room. A cozy living room with charming built-ins and two patio doors to an expansive wrap around deck provides a scenic overlook to the lake. The house is a retreat for all seasons. Relax and unwind to this quiet, serene setting in an updated lake home. Our vision for this unit is an ideal choice for families or groups looking for the amenities of home in a lovely vacation setting. We want to keep the Rock Lake Guest House tradition of an escape from the day to day and to enjoy as a relaxation home where you take in it’s beautiful views of nature. We have so many favorite things about the house, but we also love hearing why YOU love it so much! :-) That is our favorite part of hosting. Guests will have access to the entire house and property except for a few areas where the owner's store some of their personal items (locked storage area in the carport and basement). Please exercise extreme caution if you or other guests decide to enjoy the outdoor space and waterfront area – the pathways and steps down to the lake are steep and can be very slippery when wet. Our family lives only 5 minutes away. We are always available by phone and can be there in person if needed. We have tried to think of things that you would need and want to enjoy your home away from home. We love the neighborhood. It’s very safe and quiet. When you are done enjoying the lake, head into Legendary Lake Mills (just a short distance away on the other side of the lake) and enjoy all the amenities it has to offer. With an abundance of rich history, natural beauty, and small town charm, this area provides all kinds of possibilities. Enjoy a day on Rock Lake or a scenic Glacial Drumlin Trail bike ride. Go birding at Zeloski Marsh or delve into history at Aztalan State Park and Museum. Find your next antique treasure while shopping downtown, or sip locally brewed beer. A local coffee shop, an award-winning winery, restaurants, a grocery store, a pottery shop, antique and vintage stores, salons, massage, beach and bike trails...no matter your choice, Lake Mills has something for everyone! The Rock Lake Guest House is also conveniently located between Madison and Milwaukee, with close proximity to Tyranena Brewing Company, Lake Mills Golf Club, Lewis Station Winery and Wine School, Johnson Creek Outlet Mall, UW-Madison, Madison Farmers' Market, Concerts on the Capitol Square, Brewers Miller Park and many other shopping, dining and historical sites. A car or bike is necessary to head into town and get groceries etc. but you can easily walk to the lake or even carry your kayaks or fishing rods. There is also a public launch within walking distance from the house where you can launch your boat. The community of Lake Mills is about 20 minutes from the east side of Madison and 45 minutes from Milwaukee. The Fireside Theatre in Fort Atkinson is a delightful professional dinner theater that has a full season of shows and concerts. You can definitely find things to do but you may love the Rock Lake Guest House so much that you are satisfied just being there. There is a ROKU Smart TV on the main level in the living room and a ROKU streaming unit with TV in the basement that provide a number of opportunities and apps to access content for your entertainment - YouTubeTV (live TV), Disney+, HULU, ESPN+ & NETFLIX is provided but feel free to access other apps with your own account information. There are 3 natural fireplaces located in the home (basement/living room/master bedroom) that we ask guests to refrain from using - due to liability issues and to minamize damage/cleaning responsibilities.
