This house was originally a founding school in New Hamburg. Originally known as No. 11 Cressman's School, the school was built in 1897 and closed down in 1961. The current owners' relatives (great-uncle) donated the land in the late 1800's for a one room school to be built, and that is how it became known as the Cressman School. The owner's grandfather attended the school in the early 1900's. The school was in use until 1961 when it closed and the property was converted into a private residence The statuesque building and it's vantage location have formed a crucial part of the townscape over the last century! The property boasts of high ceilings, well polished original maple floors, intricately forged metal finishing and hand crafted features; combining modern interior decoration with the soul of New Hamburg - original building joints and features to appreciate.
