"The Divine Vanaprastha" is a secluded, self-contained 2-bedroom cottage having a spectacular garden, located on the edge of the reserve forest. Cottage is having a central living and dining room, a lounge with study/office space, fully equipped kitchenette,exotic balconies and himalayan snow peak view from the premises. How to Reach: The cottage is located 3 hours from the nearest airport, Pantnagar, and 4 hours from Bareilly. It is a 2.5-hour drive from the nearest railway station, Kathgodam, and Haldwani. From there, you can take local buses or a cab. 2. Bedroom Details: The first-floor bedroom has a king-size double bed and a single bed in a beautiful teakwood high-ceilinged room, which creates a cozy and intimate ambiance. The ground-floor bedroom features a king-size double bed, a spacious almirah, and a wooden dressing table. 3. Accommodation: The cottage can accommodate up to 6 adults, with the provision of one extra foldout bed available at a minimum rental of Rs 1800 per day. 4. Free Wifi: High-speed power backup wifi is available. 5. Kitchen: The kitchen is fully furnished and includes clean utensils, a microwave, fridge, geyser, hot water kettle, mixer-grinder, sandwich maker, and RO. If you are not interested in hiring the cook; kitchen handling and cleaning charges of Rs 500 per day are to be paid by the guest. 6. Cook on Hire & Groceries: You can hire a cook for all three meals at Rs 1000/ Rs 800 per day for 4-6/ 1-3 guest, with the ingredients provided by the guest. During the months of May, June, and on New Year's Eve (dates from 22nd Dec to 8th Jan), the rate is Rs 1200 per day. The local cook specializes in delicious home-cooked food, particularly local Kumaoni cuisine, and will also clean utensils. Advance booking for a cook is required, as availability may be limited during peak seasons. If booked, the guest must pay for a full day, regardless of the number of meals cooked. Grocery stores are a 5-minute drive from the cottage. The cook or caretaker is not responsible for purchasing groceries. Hierd cook is responsible to clean the kitchen & utensils. 7. Caretaker: The caretaker will handle housekeeping, and guests are welcome to give a tip directly to him. Please note that the caretaker is not responsible for cleaning utensils. 8. Water Management: Water is a precious resource in the cottage due to limited availability in Mukteshwar. Guests are requested not to waste water, as it is purchased from local suppliers at a high cost. Please avoid long showers. 9. Kids: For children below the age of 12, there will be a security deposit of Rs 1000 per day, paid to the caretaker, and it will be refunded during checkout. Children above the age of 12 are considered adults, and full charges apply for any breakage or damage within and outside the premises. 10. Neighbourhood & Surroundings: The cottage is surrounded by Kumaoni families. Please respect their privacy and refrain from making noise, littering, or throwing garbage in the surroundings. Loud music or creating any disturbances are strictly prohibited on the premises. Please enjoy the cottage while respecting everyone's space and privacy. 11. Property Damage: Property management in hilly areas is complex, and repair costs are significantly higher than in cities. Guests will be responsible for the cost of any damage incurred. 12. Heater: A portable heater is available upon request with an additional charge of Rs 250 per day. 13. Driver Accommodation: The driver can be accommodated in the caretaker's room with additional payment of Rs 1200 per day. Please ensure that he must maintain decorum and hygiene. 14. Bonfire: There is a charge of Rs 800 per use, and bonfires are allowed only outside the cottage. The caretaker will provide a bucketful of firewood, sufficient for 1 to 1.5 hours. Wood is expensive and needs to be transported from the plains, cut into smaller pieces, and brought to the fireplace. CAUTION: After using the bonfire, please ensure to extinguish the flames and embers with water. 15. Washing Machine: The cost of using the washing machine is Rs 400 per wash for clothes weighing up to 6 Kg. Ironing of clothes is not included in this cost. 16. Booking Terms: Bookings will be cancelled immediately if guests do not follow the above-mentioned rules or misbehave with the owner or staff. In such cases, no refund will be provided.
