Happy Apples is a 2nd generation, family-owned apple orchard & caramel apple company. Each Fall, the Bunkhouse is used to house our seasonal harvest team. As the Katy Trail, winery, and event businesses in our area grew, so did the demand for overnight accommodations. So we have renovated the house to accommodate guests. We’re 1 block from the Katy Trail. The space The Happy Apple Bicycle Bunkhouse is a seasonal Work House for our orchard’s Fall Apple picking team. The rest of the year, it is open to guests visiting the area. It has 4+ bedrooms with 2 sets of Bunk Beds+ in each room. The entire house sleeps 23 people. We finished renovations and opened to guests May 2021. When you book with us, you are booking one bedroom for 1-5 people. Additional bedrooms can be reserved through AirBnB. If you would like to rent the entire house (for up to 23 people), contact us early. If there is vacancy in all rooms, we can offer a special price of $400 + $100 cleaning fee + Airbnb service fee and taxes for whole house rental. We have two shared kitchens and two shared bathrooms, one regular bathroom and one with two shower stalls, two toilet stalls and a washer and dryer. There is a large level yard with a large covered area for outdoor dining, a fire pit, a propane grill and plenty of open space if someone wants to pitch a tent. We are caddy-corner across the street from a community pavilion with picnic tables, a basketball court and playground. Each room has a window air-conditioning unit. There is currently no heat in the house and very little demand for vacation rentals in the winter months, so we winterize the house and shut it down during the cold months. During your stay We live off site and work up the hill at the Happy Apples Apple Orchard. You will check yourself in. The bunkhouse will be open. Let yourself in and make yourself at home. Let us know when you arrive and we will send you a keyless entry code for your bedroom door. We are available if you need anything through text or call. You will get our cell numbers after you book your stay. We are happy to consider any “extras” that you may need during your stay. Don’t hesitate to reach out to us. Other things to note We are one block from the Katy Trail. When you book a room, that room is only yours. The other bedrooms may be reserved by other guests. Each bedroom has a keyless entry lock with a unique code that will be given to the guests of that room upon arrival. The bunkhouse is best when it is full of Katy Trail cyclist and hikers with common interests. There is a car wash right across the street to hose off dusty bikes. The two neighboring properties (The Bank Haus and The Katy Haus) are also short-term vacation rentals owned by good friends.
