Bramble Cabin

Welcome to Bramble Cabin, just 15 minutes from St Andrews . The hobby farm is powered by wind & solar & built by hand. Until recently thefarm was off-grid. The cabin is cozy, located near the main farmhouse and has all its own amenities, including a composting toilet, shower, propane stove and a view of the barn and pasture. Wilber, the donkey sadly passed away this winter. The sheep are more timid but so enjoyable to observe out in the pasture, and may wander over to say hello’ The space This place will inspire you. Get connected to the rhythm of the Bay of Fundy, through the beautiful rise and fall of the tidal Bocabec river, just a short walk from the cabin. Consider your vacation as green as it can get; the cabin is powered by solar panels and wind on an entirely off-grid farm. There are lots of trails on the property as well, and we encourage you to explore! Guest access Parking is next to the cabin. The road (1km of gravel road once you leave the highway) can be dusty getting to the farm, so take care once you leave the highway. Other things to note What you should know before you book. This listing isn’t for everyone. The location and accommodations are beautiful and unique, but in a few ways, different from your typical stay. Here’s what you should be prepared for: * Shower restrictions: it's possible – on rare occasions — that you may run low on hot water. *The eco-friendly bathroom with composting toilet and conventional toilet is a sheltered room attached to the cabin, it is not heated so it is chilly in the cooler seasons. There is hand sanitizer and plenty of wipes in the bathroom, and you can wash hands in the cabin. * On cooler days you may wish to enjoy the warmth and ambiance of a fire in the woodstove. Firewood and kindling are supplied at no additional cost. Just let us know if you need help with starting a fire. *The beautiful 2nd floor bedroom is located in a loft accessed by a set of steep stairs. *This is a working farm, so your hosts will be busy on the property during working hours. Curtains offer you privacy in Bramble Cabin, which is situated near to the farmhouse and barn/garage. *You will be sharing the property with the two farm dogs, Farley and Jaegar, both large and gregarious German Shepherds. They may bark as you approach but are very friendly once they meet you. * Cell service is excellent. Your smart device can connect to either Bell or Rogers cell towers for high speed internet service *There are two beehives located on the property located several hundred meters away from the cabin. Guests are asked to stay away from the hives, and need to be aware if allergies are an issue.
