The charming wooden features and thoughtful design details make this cabin a perfect rustic getaway in the woods. Explore over 20 acres of wooden land, replete with a trout pond for catching your dinner! Located a 5 minute drive from Lost River State Park with endless hiking trails, horseback riding, and pool. Perfect for a weekend getaway to relax and unwind. The space Cozy up next the to wood-burning fireplace, or enjoy irresistible s'mores in your very own outdoor firepit. Perfect place to relax with a book after enjoying a beautiful hike in Lost River State Park located a 5 minute drive away. While The Nest has all the opportunities to totally unplug in nature, the wifi in the cabin is super fast, making The Nest an amazing work-from-somewhere-awesome spot if you do want to stay plugged in. The Nest has two bedrooms. The Master bedroom with a queen-sized bed is beautifully tucked away in the trees, with high skylights to give you a glimpse of the treetops, or the stars, and dappled sunlight in the morning. There is a TV in the Master that allows you connect to your own streaming service accounts (e.g., Netflix). The second bedroom is up a hand-crafted (and steep!) staircase with two twins beds, an amply-sized workspace, and a balcony overlooking the area. The wood-burning fireplace is charming and effective, but have no fear there is also central heating for the cooler months and A/C for the warmer months. The Nest also has a well-stocked kitchen with pots, pans, dishes, glassware and utensils, coffeemaker, coffee filters, as well as spices and additional items that might make your stay more enjoyable. The living room area has a cozy sitting area to cuddle up with a book, or play cards with others, or just relax in front of the wood-burning fire stove. Finally, the newly renovated bathroom gives you a beautiful of the outdoors. The washer and dryer are next to the bathroom and available for guest use. Please feel free to ask us about a late checkout option and an option to have a basket of farm fresh goods ready for you upon your arrival! Other things to note Please feel free to ask us about a late checkout option and an option to have a basket of farm fresh goods ready for you upon your arrival! IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT TRESPASSING: West Virginia is serious about trespassing. Please do NOT venture beyond the bounds of the property (you are welcome to explore the pond, the butterfly garden, and the lookout). The very old cabin right across from the path to our pond does not belong to us; the cleared meadow beyond the lookout is also not our property. Neighboring property owners have been known to surveil their land and issue trespassing tickets to offenders. Please stay on our property — you’re welcome to roam freely there. 😊
