This one-of-a-kind house is going to give your family and friends the vacation of a lifetime! Located on Lakeshore Road in the heart of Union Pier, Barefoot Beach House is an eight-bedroom, nine-bath luxury home right on Lake Michigan. Combining a four-bedroom casual main house and a recently-built four-bedroom carriage house, this is one of the largest lakefront properties available in the area. Guests will first encounter the carriage house, which lies at the front of the property. Upon entering the turret on the main level, you'll be swept away by the enormous chandelier overhead and the circular balcony overlooking the entryway. From there, you can move through a small sitting area separated from the open-concept living space by a floor-to-ceiling, double-sided, stone fireplace. The kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances and an extra-long countertop that doubles as a breakfast bar to seat extra guests while the handsome dining table seats up to six people. Down the hall from the kitchen, you'll find a half-bath and a laundry area with a private washer and two dryers. There are four bedrooms within this wing of the compound, all located on the upper level. Each bedroom has a marble-tiled en-suite bathroom. Also, each enjoys fantastic views, especially the loft area, which boasts a strategically-placed skylight. The first bedroom is furnished with a queen bed, an additional queen bed in the loft area, and a door leading out to the balcony within the turret. The second and third bedrooms are each furnished with a queen bed below and there are two twin beds in the loft area. Each of these bedrooms has a door leading to a deck, and the fourth bedroom is furnished with two queen beds and an adjacent twin-over-twin bunk bed. Guests will appreciate the extensive views from the carriage house through the set of large folding doors which open onto the expansive outdoor patio and pool area. Guests will also love the geothermally-heated stone floor, the overhead lighting recessed into the beautiful wood ceiling, and the multi-room indoor/outdoor audio system. A hallway connects the carriage house to the main house. This hallway houses a built-in grill station with extra burners, a sink, a warming drawer, and an under-cabinet fridge and ice machine. Smoke from the grill is no problem, as there is a built-in exhaust fan laid into the copper paneled ceiling, and there is another set of large folding doors that also open fully to the patio/pool area. From the connecting hallway, guests enter the main floor of the practical and casual main house. The kitchen, dining, and living areas, as well as three of the four bedrooms, the half-bath, and the two bathrooms are all located on the main level. Like the carriage house, the kitchen is fully equipped with stainless steel appliances that include a huge french-door refrigerator. A black granite island offers plenty of counter space with barstool seating for three. A big, rustic table provides ample seating for 12 and an adjacent smaller table provides additional seating for four more guests. Comfortable couches are available by the dining tables and more, directly in front of the wood-burning fireplace. Wall-to-wall windows boast beautiful views of the outdoors as do numerous doors with access to the deck and outdoor patio/pool area. An additional small seating area is situated by the front door where guests will find a private library and lots of fun board games to challenge each other with. One bedroom is located near the front door and features a twin-over-twin bunk bed, an en-suite half-bath, a bench for reading, and lots of books and games for children. The second bedroom is off the dining area and is furnished with a queen bed and an en-suite bathroom. The third bedroom is off of the living area and has two twin beds and a crib. The other full bathroom is located in the hallway next to the third bedroom. On the upper level, guests will find a huge master suite furnished with a queen bed, sitting chairs, and a wood-burning fireplace. French doors lead to a magnificent marble-tiled bathroom with an enormous step-in double shower and a door leading out to a deck. On the lower level, guests will find a laundry area, an extra refrigerator, and an additional bathroom. As if the indoor space of this home was not amazing enough, the outdoor area will simply blow you away. The extra-large patio area comes with a huge, mounted TV viewable from the 7-foot-tall waterfall pool with a slide, which will be adored by children and adults alike! A set of stairs lead up to the in-ground hot tub and the adjacent pond stocked with goldfish. Atop the bluff, guests have extensive views of Lake Michigan, and as if all that were not enough to keep you busy, the private beachfront awaits you at the bottom of the stairs. THINGS TO KNOW **Please Note: If you are booking the home between the months of September - May, please verify with the agent that the hot tub and/or pool will be accessible.** The pool is open from Memorial Day through Labor Day. The pool will be heated to 80 degrees prior to your arrival. If you wish for the heat to increase, please contact us after you secure your booking. The cost for additional pool heat is $25/night. This property is managed by Vacasa Michigan LLC. Parking notes: There is free parking for 4 vehicles. 1 days notification is required in order to heat the pool. A fee of USD25 per day must be paid prior to check-in. Guests can contact Vacasa after booking to purchase pool heat for your stay. Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. Due to local laws or HOA requirements, guests must be at least 25 years of age to book. Guests under 25 must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian for the duration of the reservation.
