East Lake is one of Birmingham’s high-energy investment neighborhoods with many homes under renovation or waiting in the wings. Rollins Crawford homes are recognized as some of the neighborhood’s finest restorations, and The LakeHouse is located at the heart of this largest of Birmingham’s 99 metropolitan districts. The area is culturally diverse, safe and metro-area quiet, with lots of families and children. It also shows the scars of decades of neglect. So, if your stay requires opulent surroundings, you might look elsewhere. We are rebuilding East Lake and rebuilding takes time. Guest access The LakeHouse sits on a quiet corner of East Lake Park. There is plenty of parking on the property along side the fence in the front and side of home, in addition to the back driveway that easily accommodates two vehicles. The home is just blocks to access I-59 and I-20 interstates, in addition to 1st Ave North that takes you directly through town to downtown Birmingham. Other things to note The LakeHouse is on a primary corner of 45-acre East Lake which gives the neighborhood its name. The LakeHouse and Green Tea and Fondue, next door, are the first three of four homes Rollins Crawford Properties holds on the lake and adjacent to the 100-acre East Lake Park surrounding it. East Lake Park is a 100-acre city park surrounding a 5-acre lake in the East Lake neighborhood, developed in 1886 to attract residents moving to work in Birmingham's steel industry. This park was once famous for its Ferris wheel, a shooting gallery, swimming, boating, water skiing, baseball, golf, a zoo, concerts and other entertainment. Today, East Lake Park is one of the largest municipal recreational facilities in Alabama. East Lake Park also has a public swimming pool, tennis courts, football and baseball fields and playgrounds. This family friendly neighborhood is culturally diverse and in the throes of revitalization.
