The colored Cubes of the apartment are Blue. The blue is the color of sky and sea promoting both physical and mental relaxation. Warm, hidden lights ensure a pleasant lighting ambience during the night. The apartment is equipped with secured doors and the access is done by unique automated electronic codes. Those codes are valid only during your stay and become unusable after the renting period. No keys are used, hence, nobody else can access the apartment during your stay. There is centralized air-condition, which can also be controlled individually by the users to each individual space (room or living room). The floors of the apartment are painted with epoxy paint in two shades of grey, depending on their elevation, while all carpentry has become white so that it does not compete with the colored cubes. The element of tampered glass as a separator, provides abundant light, while preserving the privacy of each bedroom. Kitchen There is a fully equipped modern kitchen (Microwaves & grill, dish washing machine, ceramic burners). Nespesso coffee maker is available and Nespresso Capsules are provided as a standard. Mattresses and sleeping quality Both bedrooms have a comfortable queen size double bed 160cm x 200cm. As mattresses, we have chosen the awarded ‘Sealy California’ mattresses which is the premium line of the American maker Sealy. Those mattresses of 33cm height, can guarantee a luxurious and comfortable sleep, compromising independent springs, topped with a ‘Sealy cool gel memory foam'. On the living room, we have two seprate sofas, equipped with mattresses of independent springs & latex, providing excellent support during the night sleep. Bathroom and walk-in shower Both rooms are equipped with ensuite bathrooms and walk-in showers. One of the bathrooms and showers is discretely accessible from the leaving room space as well. High quality hygiene products have been chosen. Two Hair dryers are installed, one to each bathroom. Cleaning and Hygiene Special attention is paid on the cleaning and hygiene level of the apartment. Dedicated professional cleaning is enganged and we exclusively use eco-friendly and disinfectant materials. THE BUILDING The six-storey building on 43 Aiolou Street was constructed in 1974 based on a study by the famous Athenian architect Alex. Kalligas, intended for a purely professional use, with large single-story rooms on each floor, which mainly housed offices and commercial activities. The subject our renovation was the change of use and the restoration of the 4th floor, totalling ~ 400.00sqm in 6 smaller apartments. The design was based on the desire to create houses with open floor plans, giving the feeling of larger spaces and avoiding fragmentation of each apartment in small individual rooms. In each apartment we decided to create semi-open "spaces" in the room, which would mark the sleeping space and offer the necessary privacy. These "cubes" are the core concept of the apartments, and around them we develop and shape the other uses of the apartments, such as the living room, the kitchen and the bathrooms. The cubes are freely placed in the space, having in most cases their two sides open, while slightly elevated by the living room. The choice of the intense and different colors we painted the cubes of each apartment was done with emphasis to the notion of space within the space, but also to give a more ephemeral character of accommodation.
