The Gypsymoth Housetruck at Riversong is a special place to stay in parklike surrounds on the banks of the Otere Stream, Onekaka, in the heart of Golden Bay, close to the best beaches. This 7 acre food forest enables you to retreat from every day life, relax, unwind, recharge and dream in nature, listening to the beautiful song of the river and native birds. Centrally located in Golden Bay, 12 kms from Takaka town, 2 kms from the Mussel Inn Bush Cafe Brewery and 3 kms from Onekaka Beach. The space Riversong Housetruck is an original vintage 1953 Commer with a rustic well travelled charm. It has a special history where it was once a travelling stone carving studio known as the Gypsy Moth, before coming to rest in this tranquil place and transforming into a cozy cabin. You can see and hear the sound of the running stream from the comfortable, cozy queen size bed and Glow Worms can be seen shining across the river at night. Guests have access to a large grass area next to the stream which divides our property into 3 areas, plenty of room to explore the native bush and wild places across the river including a track to the amazing Glow Worm Grotto. Shared kitchen / shower facility built using timber and stone resources from the land. Fridge / freezer, 4 burner gas hob, well equipped with cooking equipment. 30 metres from the Housetruck. Tea & coffee from local Golden Bay Roasters, espresso & french press, milk, sugar and herbal tea made from herbs grown on the property. Composting toilet overlooking beautiful native bush is 20 metres from the kitchen / shower area. Small work desk in House truck, unlimited wifi access. Electricity provides lights, power points, heater, extra blankets, hot water bottle and thick bath towels are provided. Australian cotton sheets 500 thread count. Books and games for rainy days. This lifestyle block has been self sufficient for 22 years, with large vegetable and herb gardens, chickens and black sheep. Lots of fruit trees, guests are welcome to pick when the fruit is ripe. Washing machine with detergent & pegs available to use in the owners house, with separate access. There is a $5 charge per load.
