Locals speak Georgian and Svan (local language), people older than 35 normally speak decent Russian, younger people are likely to know a little English. There are also several souvenir shops in Mestia where you can buy and stamp post-cards, try on Svan hats and get Svan salt, excellent honey, magnets, and all the usual small gifts of the kind. Central station, local banks, pharmacy, cafes/bars and markets are on-site. If you travel by bus/mini-bus, you have to come across our Hotel. In case of traveling by car, you can use a free street parking on-site.
