Perched on a sand dune in Shela, Kilele is a luxurious Swahili-style 5 bedroom (1 air-conditioned room) villa with stunning 360° views of Lamu Island, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Accommodating up to 10 guests, it features a private pool, chef, and housekeeper. Enjoy ocean sunrises, sunset skies, and breezy terraces in total seclusion. The space At Kilele House, you unwind completely and let the sea breeze lull you. Enjoy delicious meals by our chef, and indulge in massages or private yoga sessions (on request, extra fees apply). Built in 2022 on a hill near a 12km white sand beach, Kilele offers access a myriad activities including but not limited to sailing, swimming, snorkeling, windsurfing, wakeboarding, waterskiing, or fishing (book in advance, extra cost). I'm Rama, your host, and I’m happy to help you plan trips, local tours, or cultural experiences like Swahili cooking classes or a guided visit to Lamu Old Town, a UNESCO site. Ideally, you will get to Shela Village or the beach using Polaris car (not allowed in the village itself. Only donkeys and pedestrians). Use the Polaris with our driver to enjoy island picnics or scenic rides (subject to availability and condition). The village is safe and welcoming, and locals are incredibly friendly.
