Capulin Volcano View House | Western Ranch Charm

This is the best and closest lodging to Capulin Volcano National monument! Come enjoy our little house on the prairie! You will find some of the darkest starry skies, beautiful sunrises and amazing sun sets. It is quiet, breezy and cozy. You will find wide open spaces, amazing skies and a great chance to disconnect from the hustle and bustle. This is a chance to feel the feels of settling the west, with the modern amenities. Come share this amazing space. See you at the ranch! The space The bunkhouse was a run down garage when we came to the ranch 20 years ago. It was one of our first projects here. It has been fully renovated and has served us well hosting guests for outdoor adventures for 2 decades. It is a typical "bunkhouse" that you will find in much of the west. It is small but open space with 2 sets of bunk beds (full on bottom and twin on top) and a living/kitchen area. There is a 54" curved screen smart tv, fast wifi. The kitchen is well equipped with a full sized refrigerator/freezer, full size gas range and oven, microwave and basic cookware/dishes/utensils etc. There are two separate bathrooms with beautiful tile showers in each. The location is next door to our house, (typical of a bunkhouse) and guests are welcome to wander around the lovely grassy yards and gardens. We are very outgoing and happy to chat but respectful of our guests privacy. Guest access The porch on the east side of the bunkhouse is pretty private and guests have access to a picnic table as well as the comfy couch, chairs and fire pit. The fire pit is quite light and we do ask that guests move it out from under the porch before they use it. The long dirt road you come in on is great for an evening stroll, but we do ask guests check with us in case there is livestock in that area. Other things to note It's a good idea to stock up on supplies on your way to the ranch, Raton and Clayton both have more selection. There is one cafe in the town of Des Moines and a gas station that carries the necessities and some adult beverages. This is the country, we do have bugs, dust and wildlife around, its all part of the experience! If something isn’t working it’s usually up to us to fix it so please let us know!
