Description
Glan Seiont Cottage is a former farmhouse dating back to 1847, located on the edge of the Snowdonia National Park, near the banks of the River Seiont. A perfect base for groups wanting to climb Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa). The sherpa bus route stops just at the top of the drive and goes to the start of Llanberis Pass and Pen-y-Pass or can take you to the beautiful Caernarfon castle. A wood fired hot tub in the garden makes it the perfect retreat for summer or winter. The space Glan Seiont Cottage is located down a picturesque driveway leading to a private parking area. Despite its rural location, it is within walking distance of shops and the bus stop at the top of the drive opens up many more options to explore all the beautiful local attractions. The rustic charm of the exterior welcomes you into a warm and inviting interior featuring exposed wooden beams and wood burning stoves. The open layout connects the living, dining, and kitchen areas, creating a perfect space for relaxing with loved ones. On the ground floor, the spacious open plan kitchen diner is fully-equipped to cater for groups. The french doors give access to the rustic flagstone paved patio and the private garden. The wood fired hot tub and a BBQ area are located on the patio making it a hub for socialising and relaxing. Also on the ground floor is a toilet and boot room. A cosy lounge is connected to the kitchen diner and features a wood burner, comfortable sofas alongside a TV and a sound system. The slate paved stairs give access to the second floor where you will find four bedrooms (inc. a bedroom with en-suite bathroom) and a large family bathroom with a roll top bath and a shower. All the bedrooms boast panoramic views over the surrounding fields and mountains in the distance. The spacious main bedroom features a king size bed and a private en-suite bathroom. A travel cot is available. The other bedrooms share the family bathroom located on the landing. The second bedroom has a double bed and a roof window providing natural light during the day and incredible stargazing at night. The third bedroom has two single beds and the fourth bedroom has bunk beds. Glan Seiont Cottage offers convenient access to many of North Wales' amazing sites and tourist attractions. The Sherpa bus (S1) stops at the top of our drive making it a perfect location for groups wishing to walk up Snowdon (Yr Wyddfa), go climbing or swimming in Llyn Padarn and thus avoiding expensive car parking fees. If you are driving, here are rough travel times to the main sites and attractions: - 5 minutes to our local village of Llanrug which offers pubs, fish and chips shop, butchers and two convenience stores - 15 minutes from the famous Zip World - 10 minutes from Llanberis where you can paddle in Llyn Padarn, start your walk to the summit of Snowdon or if you prefer take the Snowdon Mountain Railway - 15 minutes to the nearest beach, Dinas Dinlle, which offers some of the best sunsets in North Wales. - 5 minutes from the A487 bypass giving easy access to Anglesey - 20 minutes from Bangor train station which has direct trains to London, Manchester & Birmingham . Guest access A key safe is available for use on check in. Other things to note The cottage is heated by two log burning stoves which will need to be lit and kept alight for heating and hot water for the bath. Firewood is provided. Both showers are electric. Children will need to be carefully supervised around the log burners and stairs as there are no fire guards or stair gates. This property may not be suitable for toddlers. Charcoal is not provided for the BBQ. We reserve the right to terminate a stay and charge a minimum £200 fine if house rules are broken.
