Surfer’s paradise! Private suite on the ocean.

Peaceful suite with private entry with full ocean view on a cliff overlooking Honolii surfing beach and Hilo bay. Situated on the beautiful Hamakua coast just 5 minutes from downtown Hilo with beach access to Honolii several minutes away and the beautiful beaches of Hilo, 15 minutes away. There are many waterfalls nearby, as well two volcano’s and the summit of Mauna Kea, all within an hour! The space This tranquil, private suite is located in the downstairs of a vintage, plantation home on a cliff overlooking a the best surfing/ boogie boarding beach on the island, Honolii. There are stunning views from the entire unit and yard. At night you listen to the crashing waves and coquis frogs while you will wake in the morning to majestic sunrises over the ocean and bird song. There is a bonus space up a flight of stairs with a twin bed that can be used for a third guest or daybed. There is a double locked door to the upstairs unit where I live. I am available during your stay if you need anything or if you would like laundry or cleaning services for a small fee. I love to give recommendations to my favorite places nearby as well. Air conditioning is rarely needed as we have the ocean breeze trade winds and the suite has many windows, however there is a portable AC if you would like. There is a fan as well if it is needed. Temperatures here range between 66-72 at night and 70-83 during the day. There is a large yard for suntanning, playing yard games or watching the surfers. Beach access to the black sand beach below is nearby where you can surf, swim or relax. There is also a beautiful river there that is great for swimming or paddle boarding up to the waterfall. There is a refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and coffee maker. Dining table and work station and a comfy, large chair for reading is also in the unit . Food delivery is an option in this area of town as well as UBER or LYFT. There is a bus stop for the free Hele ON bus that can take you to town or around the island as well. The location can’t be beat as it is centrally located on the peaceful Hamakua coast just a few miles from Hilo Town where there is great shopping, restaurants, beaches and waterfalls. You enter the yard through the covered parking spot located near the upper house where the owner lives. Other things to note This house is located near a cliff and there is no fence. So children would need to be carefully monitored. It also is in the jungle and sometimes you will see or hear… -coquis: small, cute harmless tree frogs that sing at night. -mosquitoes: not many but after it rains, there will be some, bug repellant is in the unit. -geckos: cute, small, friendly, harmless, green lizards that Hawaiian is known for that love fruit and will sometimes visit. Fire ants- we spray for them but sometimes there can be a few near the cliff. Bird song: Many birds that live and nest in the trees nearby. -other bugs…leaving the door open at night without a screen…not a good idea, especially if the summer months… - once again….this is a beautiful tropical rainforest…if you are sensitive to rainforest creatures and insects, this might not be the place for you! There are plenty of resorts on the drier side of the island that may be more suitable for you. 😉
