Sunrise Cottage

Gateway Cottages are clean, safe, affordable, basic and environmental friendly accommodation situated on the Gateway Transformation Campus, Chirombo village, Monkey Bay, Malawi. Follow the M10 from Mangochi to Cape MacClear, and turn right at the turn-off the Cape MacClear at the Engergen Filling station on your left. Turn right on the gravel road into the village towards the Lake. Find our sign board 2 km from the turn off on the left, Gateway Transformation Center/Guesthouse. The space The space is unique and can be used by student groups, environmental groups, social upliftment and church groups. Experience Malawi hospitality. We are offering lodging as part of our hospitality courses facilitated at Gateway Transformation Campus which are a Christian training facility for the social upliftment of Malawians, adding to the economic infrastructure of tourism in Malawi. Income generated from this hospitality service will add to our training programme for future development. The guesthouse is the property of the Nkhoma family. Guest access Guests have access to two cottages. There is a access road uphill, and safe parking at the cottages. On the premises are the private house of pastor Francis Nkhoma and his wife Mary, and a dormitory house for students; there is Pre-school for toddlers 2-5 years old which are overseen by Joyce. Please note: The cottages are not located on the Lakeshore but on the side of a hill, about 200 meter from the Lake. conference hall is in in the process to be constructed. Other things to note Please note that the cottages is located about 500 meter off shore from the Lake shore located on a hill overseeing the Lake. Guests are welcome to walk down to the Lake. Showers have only cold water, but you can request the host to bring you warm water for washing. Solar heating system will be installed soon. Please remember to bring mosquito repellent/spray for your rooms.
