The Stables @ Longsight

The original stables at historic Longsight have been lovingly restored and converted to luxury boutique accommodation. Many of the original features have been preserved such as the exposed wood rafters, weatherboards, iron roof and facade. Even the original saddle racks remain in the bathroom and old framing timber has been repurposed into a beautiful kitchen island. Perfect for couples or families looking for a relaxing country getaway. The space One king bedroom fully self contained home away from home. There’s an open plan kitchen and living area which opens out onto an entertaining deck with a lovely rural outlook. There’s a combined bathroom/laundry and a quality queen size sofa bed in the living area for an extra couple or children (a single mattress can also be provided on request as well as a porta cot and high chair). An outdoor fire pit is available for use in the cooler months. There’s plenty of space for children to explore, play equipment and a trampoline. Longsight is a classic Victorian country homestead on 3 acres right on the edge of town. It’s an easy 10 minute walk or couple of minutes drive to the cafes and shops on the Main Street of Braidwood. The property has beautiful gardens and lovely rural vistas and the most fabulous brood of chickens! It also has a rich history dating back to the 1850s. Once home to the influential politician Sir Austin Chapman, the first member for Eden-Monaro in the Commonwealth Parliament in 1901 and who the Canberra suburb of Chapman is named after. Other things to note Please note there is only a shower over a bath which may not suit those with limited mobility. We do provide a non-slip shower mat to help with safety.
