Countryside cottage 10 min to downtown

One of Asheville's most popular little listings! Come relax in this cozy little cottage in the historic Chunns Cove community, conveniently located only 3 miles from downtown Asheville. The perfect size for an individual or couple, this retreat offers a uniquely stylish and well appointed interior, with the feel of an English country cottage on the exterior. Fire pit outside in the spacious yard and excellent star gazing! The space The Iron & Ivy cottage is a guesthouse located on an estate built in 1929. When you arrive, you'll drive up a paved driveway lined with stone walls, and be greeted by the charming cottage. A stone path surrounded by English ivy leads you to the door. The cottage has an open floor plan, with the double bed in the center, reading nook to the left, and kitchenette and bathroom to the right. Follow the steps outside down to the patio and yard, where you can sit and enjoy the fire pit and do some star gazing at night! She may be small, but she's all you need to unwind and enjoy Asheville :) Guest access The entire cottage is yours, and you have 2 parking spots on the driveway in front of the cottage. You can utilize the yard space to the right. The main house also has guests from time to time, or an owner visit, so make sure to leave plenty of room for parking. Other things to note This cottage was built in the early 20th century, when people were smaller, thus please note that you may need to duck under the shower threshold to enter, and the space around the toilet doesn't give much leg room. It is under 12” from the front of the toilet to the wall. These are things we unfortunately can't change, but want to make you aware of before your stay! The shower measures 77” high (6ft 5”) & the shower threshold measures just 65” (5ft 5”) high. The bathroom does not have a sink, so the kitchen sink is where you’ll wash up. We do include hand sanitizer by the toilet! The driveway is paved and is a shared circular parking area. Some guests with large trucks or SUVs have noted it can be difficult to maneuver, so just keep that in mind if you drive a larger vehicle. Mid size SUVs do not seem to have issues (host drives a Trailblazer and have no problems). Please do not leave garbage or food outside. There is a family of black bears that roams the neighborhood and will get into any trash. Just leave your garbage inside and the cleaning crew will dispose of it! The bears keep to themselves. If you happen to see them, observe from afar and remember to never feed wildlife!
