Historic Arctic Villa in Tromsø City Center - M1

The space The villa was built in 1911 by Sverre Andresen, son of the famous gunsmith Anton Andresen. Their family owned “Andresens Vaabenforretning” is the oldest store still operating in Tromsø. You can find it today a few hundred meters from the house at Storgata 53. Today the villa stands pretty much as it did more than one hundred years ago. Many of the original windows are still in place, and photos we have obtained from the 1930s show a remarkable accuracy (see pictures on Airbnb). Indoors the villa has been renovated many times since it was built. Today you’ll find all modern facilities required for a comfortable stay, furnished with iconic Scandinavian designer furniture, while still maintaining the historic feel of the property. There are two separate bedrooms on the second floor with a double bed in each. The master bedroom is large with amazing windows, beautifully restored ceiling with impressive angles, and a dedicated workspace. The secondary bedroom is smaller, and has an entrance to a small balcony. In the summer we have installed black-out blinds in the bedrooms. They will be dark, but not completely black due to the unique historic windows. Between the two bedrooms there’s a small living room with a nice 4K TV and a sofa bed that can be turned into a double bed if needed. From the large window in this room you can spot the sea between the modern buildings that have been built around the house. From this room you also enter the spacious main bathroom. It has heated floors and a nice shower. On the first floor you’ll find a large separate kitchen with a dining area. The kitchen as a fireplace you can use to create a cozy warm atmosphere. The main living room is situated just by the kitchen, and has a large comfortable sofa and a nice chair for reading and relaxing. The second bathroom witch also acts as a washing room is situated on the first floor. In addition to a washing machine and air dryer, this room has a shower and a toilet. Afer the main entrance you have a hall with heated floors and plenty of space for your shoes and outdoor clothes. Outside you have a parking spot just outside the door, and access to a backyard with a grill in the summertime. In winter this area is pretty much covered with snow. Guest access You’ll have access to the entire main house (first and second floor), but not the apartment on the ground floor. The apartment has a separate entrance.
