Description

One bedroom holiday cottage wales. The accommodation sleeps two and has an open plan sitting/dining room with fully equipped kitchen area and wood burner. Upstairs there is a double bedroom with en-suite bathroom with shower over bath. The cottage accommodation has full gas central heating which also supplies the hot water. There is a large deck area with seating to the rear of the cottage over looking the fields, stream and woods. The space Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages are the perfect destination for a quiet break, whether it’s a romantic break, a girlie chill, a chance to get back to nature, walking, relaxing or just a few nights off the beaten track and away from the rat race. We are tucked away in a secluded position, surrounded by fields and trees at the bottom of a wooded valley, complete with a stream babbling past, and at the very end of a private lane. Although this sounds like we are in the middle of nowhere, the small market town of Aberteifi (Cardigan) is only four miles away, and lovely unspoilt beaches, waterfalls, and mountains are only a short drive from our cottages. This picture postcard peaceful location, with wildlife abounding, is home to five former farm buildings which have been lovingly restored to provide quality cosy accommodation that has been graded five stars by Visit Wales. You can sense the working past of these cottages, with initials of stable boys and farm hands from days gone by etched in the slate which features extensively in the structure of the cottages. Their original charm has been retained and sits tastefully alongside modern, cosy comfort, with high quality appliances, décor and furnishings and local artwork. Each cottage has WiFi, a smart TV or TV stick providing access to the popular streaming channels, as well as a woodburner laid ready for your arrival, and a welcome pack of tea, coffee and hot chocolate so guests can park outside their cottage and get right in and make themselves at home. Troedyrhiw Holiday Cottages is dog friendly too, with lovely woodland walks from the cottage, and just a few minutes from a choice of river walks and unspoilt dog friendly beaches. Guests at Troedyhiw are welcome to explore the grounds of the retired farm, and visit our Kune Kune pig, Blossom the Shetland pony, and Ted the gypsy cob, as well as buy delicious sunshine-yellow tasty eggs from out free range hens. A scrummy hamper full of delicious local produce can also be arranged on request, containing local cheeses, butter, brownies, sausages, bacon and other produce. Guest access Guests have access to the owners land around the cottages, including the fields where our animals live, with the pretty stream running through it, as well as a number of walks through the woodland and beyond, along rights of way from Troedyrhiw. There is a childrens play area and a communal laundry room. Other things to note Situated in a courtyard once belonging to a working farm, and nestled at the end of a no-through road in a wooded valley, the Coach House sits with its neighbours. This cosy and cute cottage was once what the name implies, a coach house on a working farm. The large curved beam over the front door is evidence of its working history. Converted by the owners to a holiday cottage some 25 years ago, the stone cottage is welcoming and offers a lovely mix of traditional features and modern touches, including superfast broadband and local artwork. Under the curved beam and in through the front door, you will find yourself in the cosy lounge with a dining table and compact kitchen area. A woodburner is laid ready for your arrival, with a bag of complimentary logs too, so all you need to do is light the fire and relax. Perfect after a long journey or a busy day. There is a comfy sofa, a 42” smart TV and JBL sound bar, and a dining table with seating for two. The kitchen boasts a Neff oven, Liebherr fridge and dishwasher, and is well equipped with all you should need. Through the patio doors, you will find yourself on the decking, complete with another dining set to enjoy the sunny evenings, and this decking is a real sun trap. The decking overlooks the fields with pigs, sheep, chickens and a Shetland pony, with the stream, the Arberth, flowing through. Upstairs, past the narrow slit window, you will find yourself in the bedroom, with touch lamps, beautifully comfortable metal frame bed with a memory foam topper, and exposed beams. The ensuite bathroom is small but perfectly formed, with a Roper Rhodes rain water shower over the bath, and heated towel rail. With a laundry room on site, parking just outside your cottage, free-range hen eggs available from the owners, and grounds to explore, The Coach House is a perfect place for a relaxing break, or a base to explore the many beaches, the mountains of Bluestone country, and little market towns, or, if you prefer, it is a cosy and homely place to arrive, settle and relax…whatever your holiday means to you.
