VillaWonne is an airy beach house hidden in the large, shady garden a few meters away from the Indian Ocean. The house was designed by the Danish architect Merete as a “low energy house”. Merete lived in Arugambay for 30 years and already had the vision of eco/low energy in the 1980s. The space The villa has 2 floors, garden floor and 1st floor, each with a central living/dining/kitchen area, 2 bedrooms with terrace or balcony. The bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms. Solar-powered hot water. All rooms are to be entered and locked individually. Our housekeepers Atham and his brother Alavoudeen do housekeeping every day, i.e.: the beds are made, the bathroom cleaned and the entire apartment swept, etc. After 3 days there are fresh bed linen and towels! Other things to note In our charming Villa Wonne in Arugambay, Sri Lanka, you will experience the fascination of tropical nature up close. Occasional visits from squirrels, monkeys, ravens, ants and insects are part of the authentic tropical life here. Our dedicated caretakers Adam and Alavoudeen will make sure your stay is as enjoyable as possible by cleaning the house and garden daily.
