Q: Are there extra charges for using the hot tub and bringing or extra guests? A: We do not charge a fee to use the hot tub or any other amenities included in the home. The maximum occupancy is 10 guests, which includes adults and children. Extra guests are not allowed. Q: Can I park on the street? A: NO street parking whatsoever. The driveway has plenty of parking, can easily fit 4 cars! Q: What time is check-in and check-out? A: Check-in is after 5 PM local time, and check-out is no later than 11 AM local time to give our caretakers enough time to prepare the home for the next guest. Q: Do you allow early check-in or late check-outs? A: We cannot accommodate early check-ins or late check-outs. This policy ensures that our caretakers can clean and properly prepare the property for our next guests. Failing to comply will result in a charge equal to one night’s stay to cover the inconvenience and potential delay caused to incoming guests. Q: Will I need to meet the property manager to get a key to the cabin? A: This cabin has a smart key system that allows entry through the issue of a numbered code rather than a physical key. Q: Do you provide a mid-stay or daily cleaning service? A: All stays include a departure clean. A mid-week or mid-stay clean can be provided for an additional fee. Q: Can I ship a package to my home? A: Many different people have access to the home, and we cannot be responsible for packages once they are delivered. Therefore, we do not recommend doing this. Q: Do your homes have an outdoor music system? A: Most outdoor music systems are disabled due to noise complaints. We recommend bringing a small Bluetooth speaker since you can arrange it where you like, and it is easy to connect to! Absolutely no outside music past 10 PM. Only low decibel, no amplified speakers. Q: Do you allow pets? A: Our vacation rentals are pet-friendly. We allow up to two pets, and charge a $150 pet fee. Q: Where is the nearest hospital? A: The nearest hospital is Blue Ridge Medical Center, roughly 13 minutes away. Q: How are the road conditions in the winter? A: The local community maintains the roads so that they can be easily accessed with a 4-wheel-drive vehicle. We have also seen plenty of Honda Civics do just fine! Q: What type of security system do you have in place? A: We use smart locks that change codes with every guest who stays at our cabin. We also have security cameras on the grounds. Guest access Guests have access to the entire cabin and free access to the Benton MacKaye trail, just a short walking distance away. Our cabin is accessible via a private mountain road that adds to the adventure of your retreat. While accessible by all vehicle types, we recommend SUVs or trucks for an added layer of confidence on this charming mountain path, especially during the snowy season when 4WD might be preferable. Parking is available in the gravel driveway and can fit about 5 medium-sized cars. Other things to note Free Wifi After each guest, we thoroughly clean and refill the hot tub to ensure it's in pristine condition for your enjoyment. However, please note that the hot tub may not be immediately heated to your desired temperature upon arrival. It takes some time for the water to heat up to the desired temperature, so we ask that you adjust the temperature as soon as you arrive if you plan on using the hot tub during your stay. The hot tub should never be set above 104 degrees for health reasons. Your total reservation fee for this home includes a per-booking damage waiver fee, including any applicable taxes. The damage waiver ensures coverage for any accidental damage caused to the home or its contents, including appliances and furnishings, up to a maximum of $5,000. However, to benefit from this coverage, you must report the incident to the host before you check out. The damage waiver serves as a replacement for the conventional security deposit. TVs There is a smart TV in every bedroom and both living rooms. We have many streaming services available such as Disney, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, etc. We do not pay for these services so you will need to use your own login. Backyard Lighting The ground lights come on automatically in the evening. Privacy Whether summer or winter the backyard provides the privacy your family will appreciate in the mountains. The mountain has houses sprinkled throughout, with plenty of space between for maximum privacy. We have neighbors to our left and right who are rarely home. None of our neighbors homes impede your privacy in the backyard. Views The best views over the Blue Ridge Mountains in the summer are from the main deck; of course, the most dramatic views are in the Fall! CAUTION Please be careful in the backyard. We have a fence for safety but in the event someone goes over that fence, the mountain is steep and full of sharps sticks and trees. ATTENTION To ensure our cabin stays beautiful and comfortable for all guests, we kindly ask that you do not bring items like paints, glitter, or anything that could potentially stain or damage the furniture.
