Teremok, meaning “Little Hut,” tells a story of forest animals united by goodwill, sharing, kindness, and teamwork—values that reflect the spirit of Zukaland itself. The cabin is a true labor of love: hand-built by us and thoughtfully designed in a traditional Slavic style. Warm wooden interiors, folkloric details, and rustic craftsmanship create an immersive and cozy atmosphere. The heart of the living space is a real wood stove, filling the cabin with warmth and a welcoming glow. Perched on a forested cliff, Teremok offers peaceful woodland surroundings with the Muskoka River and sandy beach just a short walk downhill. Wake up to the quiet sounds of the forest, enjoy your morning coffee among the pines, and return in the evening to unwind by the fire. This is a place to slow down, reconnect with nature, and enjoy simple, meaningful moments. Zukaland may also be reserved for larger private gatherings. In addition to Teremok, the property includes another secluded cabin and a spacious 7-bedroom main house, allowing us to host birthdays, celebrations, retreats, and small weddings. Please inquire for availability and details. *Teremok Features* - Tiny Cabin with Character A themed Slavic-style tiny log cabin with a 14-ft cathedral ceiling, crafted from European pine logs and surrounded by tall forest near the Muskoka River. - Loft Bedroom The loft features a king-size memory-foam mattress and may be configured with two twin beds or a pull-out mattress upon request. Guests must be comfortable climbing a ladder to access the loft. - Flexible Accommodation Ideal for 2 guests; can host up to 4 using a folding memory-foam floor bed or couch (best suited for children). - Wood-Stove Warmth The real wood stove is pre-started before arrival. Firewood is provided; guests add wood as needed during their stay. - Kitchenette & Outdoor BBQ Mini fridge/freezer, toaster oven, electric cooktop, Keurig coffee maker, dishes, and a gas BBQ outside. Drinking water is provided via jug (no in-cabin sink). Complimentary daily dishwashing service is available. Due to the extensive manual preparation, cleaning, and heating involved, all spa experiences are prepared individually for each booking, are subject to availability, billed separately, and must be requested and confirmed separately. *Cedar Hot Tubs* Zukaland features two wood-fired cedar hot tubs, both located in the riverside spa area—one beneath a gazebo and the other beside a natural granite cliff. For each spa booking, one hot tub is prepared exclusively for your stay, selected by the hosts based on weather conditions, preparation requirements, and operational considerations. Each hot tub is thoroughly cleaned, filled with approximately 4,000 litres of fresh river water (no chemicals), and heated using firewood—a process that can take up to 24 hours. Spa robes, towels, drinking water, and firewood are provided. Specific hot tub selection cannot be guaranteed and is determined by the hosts. *Cedar Saunas* Zukaland offers two wood-fired cedar saunas, prepared individually per booking: - Riverside Sauna – located beside the hot tub, with direct access to the river for cold plunges - Forest Sauna – located near the upper washroom facility, offering peaceful forest views (no river access) How the Spa Booking Works Each spa reservation includes dedicated, exclusive access for a defined period, allowing guests to enjoy the experience freely and without time pressure. It is not booked by the hour. You may choose from: 4-Hour Experience – one uninterrupted spa session Full-Day Experience – unlimited use throughout the day Full-Stay Experience (up to 3 days) – unlimited use for the duration of your stay up to 3 days period Once prepared, it will be maintained throughout the booked period, the spa is yours to enjoy as often as you wish during the booked period, including multiple sessions per day. Individual hourly use is not available. *Hot & Cold Plunge (Polar Dip) Experience – Self-Guided* Guests booking the Cedar Spa may enjoy natural cold plunges in the Muskoka River year-round, creating a powerful hot-and-cold contrast alongside the sauna and hot tub. Cold plunges are self-guided and undertaken at guests’ own discretion and risk. While we are happy to share general guidance on hot-and-cold practices, participation is entirely voluntary. Guests are responsible for assessing their own comfort, health, and limits. River access and cold plunges are not supervised, and Zukaland assumes no responsibility for injuries related to river use or cold exposure. Zuka Beach Complex (Included) Guests have access to our secluded Zuka Beach Complex, nestled in the pine forest along the Muskoka River. Firewood is included and the grill is pre-fired for your convenience. The main house, where hosts and staff reside, is also on-site and may occasionally be rented out, but there is ample space ensuring plenty of privacy for all guests. **Bathroom Facilities:** Please be aware that the cabin itself does not have an in-cabin washroom or sink. The two cabins share a common facility building that houses two full private bathrooms designated for each cabin, conveniently located approximately 25 meters from the cabin. The bathroom is heated and includes a full shower, sink, and toilet. Rest assured that these bathroom facilities are well-maintained and equipped to meet your needs. Additionally, for your nighttime convenience, a portable potty with disposable bags is available on-site at the cabin. **Shared Amenities:** Our beautiful beach area and watercraft equipment are also shared among our guests. Spa Preparation & Booking Requirements: Hot tub preparation takes up to 24 hours or longer in extreme cold, and sauna heating requires approximately 2 hours. Because both experiences are manually prepared and custom-heated for each guest, advance booking notice is required and spa availability is subject to scheduling and capacity. Preparation begins well in advance of your reserved time to ensure the experience is ready when you are. Spa Cancellation Policy: Due to the considerable resources required, cancellations are not allowed once spa preparation has started — even in the event of bad weather.
