Easy to get to SKI, Tube, Sled Sugar (15 Min.) & Beach (20 Min) Mtns. as the home sits on a flat exit onto a state-maintained road. Easy Drive There are no steps into or inside the home! Walking distance to restaurants. The space HURRICANE HELENE UPDATE: We are happy to report that our home and property withstood the hurricane and all utilities are up and running Plenty of open space and 1/2 acre is fenced-in so your children and dogs have an open space for playing. Outside is a deck, Adirondack chairs and a fire pit. Wood is available inside the unattached workshop. Plenty of room for outdoor games. Upon request, Cornhole Set with bean bag toss can be supplied. The house is located on state-plowed roads and access to Sugar Mtn and Beech Mtn for skiing, tubing, snowboarding, mountain biking is a breeze! Sugar Ski is 10 miles from the home and Beech is 18 miles. If you're lucky and staying during a snow, there are 2 winter foam snow sleds for your use on the slight hill in the back yard. see photos The rooms are spacious and the beds are comfortable. The kitchen is fully equipped with a large workspace. The dining room has a table that can fit up to 8 diners comfortably and the living room has a large tv and leather seating for up to 5 or 6 people. The front porch, which is enclosed and has plenty of windows and heat and air, has 2 rockers as well as a desk and chair. Games for all ages are also located in this room. Newly added 2023, the back/main entry has double pavers, allowing easier handling of luggage, walkers, etc! See photos at end of gallery NEW! For our summer & fall guests, the herb/tomato/pepper garden is busily growing delicious produce for your use! During fall & winter, enjoy the colorful pansies! Need more space? This home is also listed on Airbnb as a 3 bedroom, 2 bath (1 king, 2 double downstairs; 2 twins, study, full bath upstairs). Guest access Guests have access to a fully-equipped kitchen, (new appliances, central heat/air), enclosed front porch, LR, DR, 1 bathroom, 2 bedrooms (1 bedroom has 2 double beds and the 2nd bedroom has a king-sized bed), laundry room, mud room. Spices, oils, vinegars are available for your use (free). The Coffee Maker is a "dual maker", using Pods or loose coffee. Regular and decaf pods are left for your use. If you need a larger space, we also list this home as a "3 bedroom, 2 bath" home. If you rent the larger version, the locked door to the upstairs is opened and you'll have access to a bedroom with 2 twin beds, 1 full bath (funky ceiling (slopes) but has everything you need!) as well as a sitting area, complete with a leather "Eames" chair and ottoman. Great for getting away! Please note that all my bath towels, bed linens, blankets, mattress covers are white and I launder all these items between guests! Other things to note Smart TV in LR and master bedroom. Live cable via "YouTubeTV", many streaming channels included (Apple, HBO Max, Disney+, HULU, Prime Video, Netflix) Internet/WIFI provided by Spectrum. A "corn hole" set is available (for free) for our guests to use. Please ask in advance of your stay and it will be placed inside your mud room. Note that it's not to be left outside overnight or in the rain but other than that, it's fun for the entire family. The limit of "4 guests" does not apply to babies/toddlers who will not be using the beds but their own beds, brought by the guests (pack n plays, etc) SUGAR MTN. SKI IS OPEN as of November 23rd!! The 7 inches of snow this week prompted an early opening! Sugar Mtn. is known for its extensive snow-making system but the average of 78" of NATURAL powder falls each season! Only 10 miles from Cranberry Cottage! The cottage is located on a flat exit onto a state-maintained road, making the drive to the ski slopes easy! BEECH MTN. SKI Resort is set to open Nov. 29! Both of these ski resorts are fantastic! Please note that if you're looking to ski at both, choose a day that doesn't have snow on the road to ski at Beech as the drive up to Beech climbs significant elevation; otherwise, choose Sugar as the road is more or less flat and easier to drive. Both resorts offer tubing, sledding, snowshoeing. Please contact both in advance if you're looking to take lessons in the ski schools.
