Merida is 20 minutes away one direction and the beach is 20 minutes away the other. Enjoy birds singing, starry nights and beautiful tropical gardens with a koi pond, fountains and a jungle like tropical garden. Enjoy a relaxing Spa like experience with a 4 person Infared Sauna with red light therapy. The space The property is walled and surrounded by forest, and grass filled meadows. Inside the walls it is a tropical paradise filled with banana trees, guava trees, orange trees, lime trees, anona trees, avocado trees and other exotic fruit trees and flowers. The Writing Studio sits in the middle of the property with a wrap-around covered porch flanked by a large pool, covered patios and an infrared sauna. The hacienda style main house is separated from the guest house by an inner garden and koi pond/fountain. The main house is not available to guests. The Guest House sleeps 4-5. The house has one private bedroom with a king bed and the huge L- shaped area which contains a sleeping area with 2 twin beds and an office area at one end that flows into a living area with a huge flat screen TV and in the corner is a dining area that curves into a large kitchen with a coffee bar that opens to the pool and patio area. A fifth person can sleep on the sofa that folds out to a nice twin bed. The Guest House is perfect for quiet mornings with steaming coffee watching the sun rise or evenings marveling at thousands of dancing fireflies with a glass of merlot while lounging poolside. Enjoy a spa like experience with our 4 person inferred sauna off the pool with red light therapy. Massage, acupuncture and professional chiropractic services are available by appt at an extra cost. Guest access Enjoy your own private pool and there is a laundry/ storage/ work area at the far end of the L shaped covered patio in what used to be the garage of the Guest House. This garage area is not part of the guest house rental space.This area is used by the maid to do laundry, store things and house the pool equipment and water filtration systems. The maid may pop in that area during the day, but it is not visible from inside the guest house so it is very unobtrusive. Other things to note We have 2 dogs, one huge Spanish Mastiff dog named Soledad who is gorgeous and an adorable Basset Hound named Basil. Soledad and Basil spend most of the day inside the main house, but mornings and evenings they are out some to use the restroom. We ask guests to park outside our entrance in our parking area out front so our dog do not accidentally get out if a car is leaving. They bark at times at surrounding stray dogs that come near our property but they do not bark non stop or for no reason. They have never bitten a human and we would introduce them both to you at arrival. We would try to keep them in the house as much as possible when guests are here. But if you do not like dogs or are fearful of dogs, just because of our mastiff's sheer size, our place might not be a good fit for you. If you are, however, a dog person you will be thrilled to see this gentle giant and her goofy side-kick, Basil. Soledad is imported from Russian and is a pure bred Spanish Mastiff.
