See Mount Rushmore from your room! This spacious upstairs room, named for tourism pioneer C.C. Gideon, has two queen beds and a double futon, sleeping up to six. The bathroom has an antique claw-foot tub/shower and there is a jetted spa tub in the room. Did we mention you can see Mt. Rushmore from this room? The space We are located just 20 mins from Mount Rushmore, 5 mins from Custer State Park, 12 mins from the Needles Highway, and within an hour’s drive of every major attraction in the Black Hills. The lodge is constructed of massive spruce logs with an extensive deck facing west with views of pine trees, rock outcrops and Mt. Rushmore. The interior decor is dominated by the oversized natural rock fireplace and genuine western and antique artifacts are in every room. Each room is individually heated and air-conditioned. Guests enjoy sitting on the deck watching some of our local wildlife graze on our fully natural landscapes. Your hostess, Marilyn, is a third-generation Black Hills tourism ambassador and is always ready and willing to share local information, historical insights and carefully crafted driving directions. A light breakfast of coffee, tea, juice and pastries is served daily in the dining area. Guest access Guests are welcome to all common areas, including the west deck, great room (open concept living and dining room), nature trail, outdoor pavilion and playground. Private areas include our offices and host quarters.
