Description
This cabin-like bus, with its warm filtering light, wood interior and soft quilts is just on the edge of a wooded stretch of land. A creek is just outside your door, with muscadines vines along the fencing and a tiny bridge that leads to gardens and a chicken yard. It really feels like you are out camping, though neighbors and civilization is quite close by! *This unit is pet friendly!* * There are high steps up to the bus and a ladder to the second bed* The space **IF STAYING DURING WINTER*** We will not have water turned on for winter stays, due to freezing pipes. It will be just a bit more RUSTIC, but plenty of FUN for campers!! You will need to bring your own jugs of drinking water or handwashing water. And baby wipes if you want to get cleaned up. There is a porta potty nearby as usual, and space heaters, but plan to pack as though you were going camping with extra warm things for yourself. ***THANK YOU FOR YOUR UNDERSTANDING** While staying in what we call the Gerlach bus, you will also have access to a picnic pavilion, and a close-by outdoor shower stall and a outhouse. WiFi is poor out in the woods, but if you are desperate, you are welcome to log in on the barn porch. Fun fact: We also have a frisbee golf course on the property! Many folks might like to take it easy and dial down the activity for a true retreat, yet we also have a wide variety of options for those looking for something to do nearby. From hiking Nocallula Falls, bouldering the world-class rocks at Horse Pens 40, kayaking Little River Canyon or Terrapin Creek, or the fishing piers of the Coosa in Gadsden. There are many outdoor activities we can point you towards. Attalla has a quaint downtown full of antique shops. Nearby Gadsden has just about any kind of restaurant that could be desired, from Thai, to Italian, to an Irish pub as well as Back Forty, our own local brewery. The Coffee Bar is a nice new establishment with good WiFi! Activities like The Factory trampoline park, The Alley bowling center, our local movie theater and Gadsden State theater all provide options for rainy day enjoyment. Other things to note Nomad's Land is a Christ-centered community and retreat. We happily host travelers and wanderers seasonally, in the fall and spring. We especially focus our lives on Rainbow Gatherings and the traveling counter-culture. You might run into a lot of tattoos, dreadlocks, hugs and backpacks when visiting our place. Shared space needs to remain family friendly, with respect to others space and personal property. You can expect that kind of respect from us as well! DRUGS won't be tolerated, and alcohol is NOT permitted in community spaces, only in your own unit. Pets are allowed in this unit, but please keep dogs on a leash when outside and please do not bring pets inside any of the other units or buildings. Our cats are outdoor cats but they try to sneak into places. Please help keep them outside as well! Thanks!
